If you doubt it ask Tigane, game master. I was asking this question in the Universal channel from the newbie island. Tigane ended the discussing by warning everyone....

And do you honestly believe anyone would put his guild-friend on the ignore list, just because the make a rude joke? Are you the type of person that goes complaining at an admin whenever someone insults him?

If you cant handle that behaviour try playing a single player game. The reactions from all of you make me wonder, is it really true you havent heard any rudeness? Im sorry but that is something that rankles in my ears, just a tad.

And about the comparison with WoW about the size of the community, Zanthar is right. WoW is such a big name, its a famous game for many reason. If you like it or not, you cannot deny that is has changed the understanding of MMO. So people will join it faster than for example Ryzom.
you know, based on this thread i dont think i like you at all. You seem to have some issues and go about things in a very odd way.

maybe i am testing you like you seem to want to test everyone else

lol-I had avoided posting anything here since I really had nothing constructive/nice to say, but this is perfect. Wish I'd thought of it.

Well to start off, i really wasnt the first one starting about the ears, i used those exact words as a copy....check it if you must.

And rushin seems to be of the clever type :)

Like i said, i like to poke at people, like rushin demonstrated in an over too obvious way. Did you really think i told those people i had already found the gulatch oil? I had a nice laugh over it, and moved off after hearing a GM shout at them. I had fun.

Now about the thread i started this afternoon. Server was down and i was looking into some old threads. I saw some words coming a tad close (im keeping your words in my vocabulary Fiach) to flaming. It wasnt tho, but close. And i wanted to see if i could get anyone into it by building the steps higher and higher, slowly. Start with a normal opinion, getting a response, flaming just a tiny bit on the response, getting a irritated response back on that one, and so on.

After some time i couldve gotten some of you to call me things you are so eager to avoid. You dont want them into your escape. I dont know why, maybe because you think you're better than the people that use insults to say what they think.

I got this from another thread:
arfindel wrote:Little theory here:
Somebody leaves Ryzom, posts that Ryzom is a bad game, and all the community feels the need to answer him, some to convicne him it's not bad, others to convince him he didn't understand the game. These threads are recurrent.

They always move on the same mechanism:
X leaves
X doesn't only leave but posts that Ryzom is bad.
(A, B, C...N) all play and enjoy Ryzom.

If Ryzom is really bad (A, B, C, ... N) are enjoying a bad game, therefore X is cleverer than them. And that's what his posting implies.

If Ryzom is proven good then X didn't understand the game, or didn't take enough effort to understand and then (A, B,C, ... N) are cleverer than him.

Naturally (A, B,C,... N) feel hurt by the first hypothesis and try to prove it wrong.

But if first hypothesis is wrong then the second one is true which makes (A, B, C...N) be in a superior position.

Leaving is neutral.
Posting "Ryzom is bad. I leave" is a condescendent attitude.
Answers are just symetrical condescendent reaction :)

Detail 1. Posting "Ryzom is bad. I leave" disregards entirely the feelings of the forums community, has a more or less constient will to hurt.
Detail 2. The more the answer is kind, the more denotes self confidence, the more the answer is aggressive denotes need to convince the author himself of his truth.

Don't worry, Anissa, most people who answered affirmed mostly their devotion to our world rather than their condescendence to X.
After reading this person posting a "i think im very smart now, dont you?" reply, it made me think. You were so eager to avoid it so i tried it. As the clever rushin (i have no idea if he really is, or if it was just a lame guess) stated, i wanted to try a test. It failed, ahwell.

Im glad to have gotten some new info about the game, so thank you all for the replies.
ps. After reading half the post of g00staff, i stopped. Just stopped.

So... you were attempting to start a flame-war?

I would take issue with the....."I was testing the community" statement.

It rankles just a tad.
Do you believe now. This was posted before i posted that. I used your words ! Check the first page....

And rothimar, yes i was. I was attempting it, to prove my point. And i still believe i couldve succeeded easily. I still can actually.
If i keep this up long enough everyone will hate my guts :)

no, everyone will put you on ignore and carry on happily.

I'll suggest this once to you, grow up. If you can't do that then get lost.

People here really arent impressed with your antics, you see we do actually have a very nice community. if you dont want to join it i suggest you find a forum or a game more suited to you because Ryzom surely isnt it.

Do you expect me to check the entire world, every square metre, just to help you?
It went on and on, and people started to try to insult me harder and harder, to top their friend standing next to them. Believe me, every community is the same, there are 14-year olds everywhere. (no offence, some do have brains)
Where did you ask this?

I have never, not once ever, seen any sort of response like this on the Universe channel, nor did I once see anything remotely like this in regional on the starter island during the 2-3 weeks I was there before subscribing.

Frankly I'm almost of a mind to think you're making it up. I have literally never seen a chain of responses like that, ever, in all my time playing Ryzom.

Hehe, I remember the hair incident, the poor homin who dared speak like that ended up with quite a beating from myself and other as far as I remember:
he was flamed down before Tigane could even stop the verbal fight :)

Still waiting for that drink from Tigane btw :)

I second 100% the poking tho: a community is not good cos u test it: a community is good cos u make what is necessary urself for other ppl meeting you to consider than the community is good after they met you :)

Concerning the "how big":
You know there are four regions (one for each race)
Each region includes 5 areas (lvl 0-50, 50-100, 100-150, 150-200, 200-250) and sometimes 6 (two 150-200 areas) which are at least as bit each as the island.

Add to that about 8 Prime Roots areas bigger than the average for some and u'll get an idea of the how big ...
I would say between 20 and 30 kilometers from one side of the world to another (seem to remember my packers been around 28km from me on some mis-target occasion)
