Lets face it the neutrals are just a coders sollution to the problem of how to give players a chance to explore both options before making a choice, they were never meant to be a 3rd option. (And they never will be...)
painfully true .

I would counter with 'Tryton' but they seem to have quietly buried him :/
Ah well, there's the ring to escape into.

Oddly for once I agree with many of your statements in this post, however I do want to point out that the teleports are faction and not race based. The Higher Powers allow us all a freebie in our capital cities, otherwise you have to earn faster travel...

It is inconsistent and ill considered however.

In Fyros one can still TP to every town, while neutral.
In the other lands, one can't.
Neutrals are, quite often, traders, diggers and crafters and this inconveniences them and means less goods in multiple land shops.
In character it is like choking off the economies, plus its just tiresome.

The higher hunt etc areas and the PR, I can grudgingly accept, but not the towns really.

The Fyros have always had several advantages (I blame Vince :P ) the others have not had... multiple stables in Pyr, digging within city limits (Dyron, Thesos) etc etc... Some of the inconsistancies are also geography based, the Matis are hurt less as our cities are seperated by a few packs of gingo but otherwise not spread out.

I will for this one time avoid your labeling of neutrals... I have a different definition of neutrals in Atys, though a minority fit your description...

I added the fact of me being Tryker because being a neutral Tryker means that I have lost the TP's to Windemeer, Crystabell and Avendale all Tryker towns that I, as a Tryker, should have access to, add to this the fact that it's all water seperating those towns and the distance, largely due to terrain features, is rather fast and you can see why the three towns mentioned don't see a lot of visitors anymore.

Also think of all the Tryker newbies who will start with only low Kara fame and will thus be forced to swim for miles untill they can get their Kara fame up to 30+ needed to gain access to said TP's. I don't think that was such a great idea, of course anyone is free to disagree with me :p

Why add a neutral side to the game, back them up with lore and then gimp them out of existence?

I'm not saying that this is what has happened but there is now real reason to condemn neutrals just becuase you feel everyone should pick a side. There are strong (RP) reasons for people to be neutral and they are supported be official lore. If you have the right to RP a Kara fanatic then I have the right the right to RP a neutral stance.

If neutrals were "fleshed" out a bit more they could have had an intresting role in the Kara/Kami conflict (think mercenaries, gunrunners and even diplomats) but as it stands neutrals are nothing more than an "undecided" mode as a go between either faction.

Will spires also affect teleports in prime roots zones? now that would be interesting.

anyone else notice how quiet the game is since people are all off in their own little worlds? ie: ring senario
