Ah Ok... Well I wasn't sure as I really don't track spires because I don't particularly want it to be put into Ryzom. Maybe I am hoping it will just go away or not be as bad as I think of it as... Sorry :p

While we are off topic, I think I would like to make another point about Spires. I really really hope they implement some Level Limit that will not allow Lvl 250 players to battle for a Level 50, 100, or maybe even 150 zone Spire. We must be able to include the lower level players.

That was changed I think, it used to be the more linked spires you had the more total bonuses, but the weaker they got. From your quote about the total global HP of spires it looks now like all spires on each side share total max HP, so if you have 2 spires, then they each have 1/2 the hp as if you had 1 spire.

So lots of unlinked spires = bad cos you dont get the multi-bonus, but you _do_ get the weakened spires. Interestingly this favours the weaker side, since it makes expansion into other lands more difficult than it was before if you already hold a load in your homelands.

See sections 4 and 5. The more spires you control the stronger the bonus effects of ALL the spires you control. The side controlling fewer Spires is favoured very much by the division of HP.

I'm of the opinion that Spires will be even worse than Outposts for Ryzom, well, the game I began at least. But I do think they may well affect the K/K imbalance in Outposts. I'd like to see something like Noin's suggestion too - upper level limits - but the only way I can imagine to do this would be to rewrite the FvF coding. I like that the NPC guards will have defence level 50, I wish that NPCs could be healed but not rezzed by players.

Ok, heheh, I was just running on memory tbh.

But yes, I agree, spires will be a bad thing for my favourite bits about the game. More PvP-only content and not only does it do _nothing_ for non-PVPers, it also nerfs some of them too... *sigh*

They're also supposed to get weaker (easier to destroy) the more are held.

IMO, if rewriting the FvF code yet again becomes necessary, I'd rather see them scrap the entire thing (Spires that is) than to create anymore delay in either the Ring or any upcoming PvE content.

Whoohoo! Amen to that :) Please rewrite the FvF code!
Actually, I don't think anything but Ring development will be allowed to get in the way of Ring development.
