yea, what they said :) Go any race, any faction - if you can RP a story to make it work, all the better, if not - no one is gonna enforce it against you :)

Ummmm.... didn't your guild, one of the better and long term guild's give up their OP to the Kamist's ?

As one of the fanatics here I was insulted that someone with as much potential as Samsara gave up owning an OP to make it easier to support the Kamists using "mercenary" RP. Sure lore is often rewritten to support the decision (at least attempted) and now the Kami's feed their needs... but a great part of lore was missed out on by not being yourselves and keeping an OP you surely deserve.

IC I have to blast this mercenary thing, because it's so drug/pusher oriented and they probably only throw you a bone compared to having kept the OP... but as a player, Samsara should have kept their OP and their role as it is unique.

Sadly a lesser guild than Samsara is currently owning Woodburn, it is a golden egg of an OP and would have been a beacon for what they stand for. Now it is just an OP with good location/mat that someone else is holding. I cannot hold faith any longer with how the Samsara is playing, but there WAS many members I held in great respect.

RPing a story is not the same as being a part of a story....

OOC Holding the outpost was causing many of us, particularly myself and Kostika, a great deal of stress. While we participate in battles we are not, most of us, keen PvP players and hiring out gives us a choice and has divorced us from the need for alliances and, thus, the faction battles as much as possible.

Both the decision to SELL the outpost, and who it went to from the offers, were group decisions. Yes, we ended up boned due to the problems with the originally occupying guild and people and haven't recieved what the pay offer was, but the game is now, still, a much better experience for us overall, even without a steady supply of catalysers etc.

The OP wasn't 'give up', it WAS sold, the initial price was met, the long term price wasn't due to aforementioned complications. Selling it is perfectly in-idiom for the guild as has been hiring out. It isn't a matter of purely supporting the Kami faction through covert or any other means, the Karavan just doesn't seem to care to hire us on most occasions (perhaps - hopefully - motivated by a desire for a slight chance at a fair fight if the Kami hire us).

IC and OOC the outposts became something we didn't want, they weren't the story we wanted to tell or be a part of, instead of rebuilding Atys or acting as genuine outposts they just became manufacturing plants to fight over in the faction-war-by-proxy. IC & OOC that wasn't what we wanted and there was no longer much reason to hold onto it other than Catalyser greed and prestige. That wasn't worth the hassle AND it was forcing us into alliances with oone faction over another. As you may have seen we've now withdrawn from the Guardian Alliance which now leaves us even freer to act independently.

Just please, don't misrepresent what occurred, our motivations, our RP or blame anything else but an unwilllingness to pay for our services for our apparent 'Kaminess'.

We're neutral, you're just too cheap to hire us.

All past history aside, the Samsara (Kostika in particular) know full well that I am a Karavaneer and the leader of a dissident Karavan Guild, yet I judge an Individual (and to a lesser extent, a Guild) by their actions not their faction. I haven't been real involved in factional PvP since the Woodburn incident due to an immense need to walk my own path and grow a (mostly) self sufficient guild. I'll say this for sure though- I would have no qualms about hiring the Samsara to perform services in support of the Karavan should the need arise.

Not all declared Karavan think you are Kamists, just some of the more vocal ones :)
