hehe, yes exactly.

If a medic could instantly heal somebody on the battlefield then you'd expect the medic to get shot for doing so, wouldn't you?

Er... no. I really wouldn't.
But then the red cross would help both sides and most combatants would go 'Sod this' after being painfully killed a few times, go home and watch telly instead.

Well I would. Taking care of badly injured people is one thing, instantly healing them so they're free and able to continue fighting is another.
Not only does that suck, we cant even attack these neutral medics which makes it a exploit and would defeat the purpose of the OP fight system if it were allowed.

Not taking a side is ...Neutral...as we all understand this. This allows safe passage in a OP battle....
If any agressive action is taken by the neutral, and yes healing is an 'agressive action'. (reviving someone and prolonging the battle.... is not a neutral action.), the neutral status should immediately be replaced by an active PvP tag assigned to the faction they assisted.

I recently made the following experience:
At Yrkanis stable some two players were happiely nuking those standing there AFK with Tag on.
I, being RP and RL against such dreadfull behavior, healed the fallen AFKers.
And so it went on for a few minutes, maybe they were having fun making me heal and I was having fun helping the AFKers. Until some opposing forces arrived and drowe them off. Later the Attackers returned with more people to nuke it out...
Simple and IMHO stupid provokation ... *shrug*
But my point is. Without me, those AFKers, while being not overly clever themselves for going AFK while flagged, would have respawned...
Wich is not that bad within Yrkanis but well... I simply don´t like defenseless people being nuked for fun. (And I know that probalby I was entertaining those idiots with doing it, but I don´t care what they think)
So, won´t I be able to practice my RL and RP stance anymore in a city?
I take it that "neutral healing" will only be dealt with at OP battles, not in such situations, right? (In case it would come to this on Leanon too, or someone on Arispotle takes a similar stance to mine.)

tbh if someone nuked me while AFK, I'd prefer to just respawn at the TP and be in a safe zone instead of returning to find that 20hp had vanished from my gear.

Only the attacker(s) gear would be breaking though.

(and your amps Acred

)
And yeah, Faction tagged PvP is something else, but regarding OP PvP, neutrals shouldn't be able to heal.

the scenario of killing afk ppl is only the attacker losing stuff for his jollies, the victim, loses nothing really, (other than perhaps a location change due to a respawn)

The Red Cross tend not to sit on a battlefield healing their mates with the prime goal of giving them an advantage over the opposition who they refuse to help.
