Dear Mr Trollsprite wrote:Well first of all, the tactic of declaring and not showing up (though apparently people did show up to this) is used almost exclusively by the Kami forces - please get your facts straight first - just because an attack on a karavan OP by kamists isn't announced on the public forums like almost every challenge to a kami one is, doesn't mean they don't happen. Case in point - last week we (the karavan) spent about 7 hours sitting around doing nothing at outposts because KoO attacked 3 OPs and didn't show up (the one they did show up to is beside the point)
Secondly, the attacker gets to choose the time of their attack, just as the defender gets to choose their time of defence. In most recent attacks on karavan OPs, the attack has been something like 9am on a sunday morning - this equates to about 3/4am for most americans.
Thirdly, despite what some people say, politics are an integral part of the outpost war - the people who do or do not show up usually do so for a reason.
This post isn't intended to blame/accuse anyone of anything, just that I don't take kindly to being falsely accused of things
I was in attendance last night, and all I saw were two lvl 250 Kara who were most probably bored and had nothing too do and so decided to go see what was going on.
I dont know who counted four, but I specifically remember 2 Kara sitting down talking too the kami and I am a member of riders of the storm.
Next to my north american *cough* friend *cough*, the the normal world, the relatity where we have finished our studies and left our mommy and daddys and then have kids and full time jobs, you know those people who are not students, people living on social benifits or having a fullfilling job like working in Mc Donalds where nobody cares or notices whether or not your all there.
The game is flawed, this is not a casual observation, its fact, playing a game that involves you having to be up 3 in the morning is seriously BROKEN
Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
Actually, I seem to recall that the tactic was used widely by both sides early on in the Outpost wars. I can certainly remember Citizens of Matis doing it and there have been times when different guilds have set attacks at the same time on different outposts.sprite wrote:Well first of all, the tactic of declaring and not showing up (though apparently people did show up to this) is used almost exclusively by the Kami forces - please get your facts straight first - just because an attack on a karavan OP by kamists isn't announced on the public forums like almost every challenge to a kami one is, doesn't mean they don't happen. Several times, I've sat at an OP having to drag some mobs over for amusement, whilst waiting for tardy karavan attackers. At least we had some fun with Maniah once at Gu-Qin
Personally I think that there should be some game mechanism to stop multiple attacks. I could be that a guild is only allowed one attack at a time (but alt. guilds would get around this) or maybe a better solution would be to only allow a single OP attack at any one time on the whole of Atys.

Now is different to then, you'll noticed I said "is used" I fully agree that its a loathsome thing to do, and as far as I'm aware, this is a feeling shared by the majority of Karavan. I infact fully agree about multiple attacks being "wrong" but thats a completely different threadandypur1 wrote:Actually, I seem to recall that the tactic was used widely by both sides early on in the Outpost wars. Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
can I also point out it was not the karavan who declared on this op last night
not the proper "caravan association" anyways
not the proper "caravan association" anyways
Re: Atatck on Sai-Shun Stronghold
As a european player, I suggest you think about what you've written, we have a large number of players from across the Atantic and any attack at 1AM is early evening for them. If you have a problem attending yourself, make sure that you have enough American alliestigercha wrote:Dear Mr Troll

If you can't attend the attack phase, then make sure that the defense phase is set to a time that is convenient for you, how does 8PM BST sound.
I also have a job, which was why I couldn't attend and I think that you'll find that the average age of players on Atys is much older than you might think, certainly from discussions I've had with other homins.
