Currently, this isn't planned at all. With the current state of the engine, this isn't something we can do; if we wanted to do it one day, we'd have to make a lot of changes, so that's not something we can just add to the TODO-list while saying "sure, easy one!".acridiel wrote:1. We know that there´ll be no customisable Maps in the first R² Edition. Fine with me to a certain degree. When will we be able to create our own?
Same answer here.2. Will we then be able to crate canopy branches? My dream environment.
We like the idea, but it doesn't fit the current schedules. So, no, it won't be possible. :/3. Will we be able to connect the newly made Outlands to for example the empty Gates in the Guildhomes? That would be a treat!
Plants, yup: you have quite a number of decorative trees and environmental effects available in the Ring palette; but it doesn't include micro-vegetation.4. Will we be able to plant plants and grass in the outlands? For example greating a grassy steppe, where the Torbaks hide in the tall grass *eG*
There will be Ring portals in the capitals, where you'll be able to select the scenarios you want to join. You'll be able to choose among the public ones and the ones you've been invited to.901941 wrote:[*]How will players be able to travel to these lands, through portals, or special tickets provided by the gamemasters?
Currently, there no precise date for the release of the Ring; R2 is not going to be released before June, that's for sure, but the current target is to release it this summer, so don't expect to see it patched live next month. (MMO production motto: "no date is known for sure before test can tag a version as 'releasable'").[*]On the Ten Ton Hammer site Byron Mudry gives a nice review of the ring. He also mentions that R2 will be release next month, I was wondering if it is true what date does nevrax have scheduled for the release?
Through the pionneer program; have a look at the Ring Q&A I've made a while ago, there are some partial answers to this question. Everything hasn't been decided there yet, so I haven't much more details to give you atm. It's something on which we'll concentrate after the Ring release, once we have been able to see how everyone interacts with the Ring.[*]How will the scenarios, events, and worlds designed by the players influence the game storyline.
I don't know yet, we have still some questions left to answer here. Ask me again in 1-2 weeks.[*]Will there be Kami and Karavan presence in the new lands for R2?
*BIGsigh* Well, there goes my dream.Xavier Antoviaque wrote:Alright, I haven't got all the answers for sure yet, but I've also already taken too much time to answer you; so here's the first set of answers, and I'll try to complete it with time (feel free to keep asking questions btw).

And anotherone... But as you like the Idea, I hope you´ll pursue it further sometime in the futureXavier Antoviaque wrote: We like the idea, but it doesn't fit the current schedules. So, no, it won't be possible. :/
Ahwell, better than nothing. It was just an Idea. So save it for later.Xavier Antoviaque wrote: Plants, yup: you have quite a number of decorative trees and environmental effects available in the Ring palette; but it doesn't include micro-vegetation.
When they will be released (small reminder: the Outlands won't be included at release, they will be developped later on), the Outlands will be accessible through the Ring TPs. You'll be able to launch scenarios from the Outland, and thus linking it other maps, but not to other Outlands.grimjim wrote:Or to each other.
NWN had a sort of 'gates' thing where servers and scenarios could be strung together from each other.
The ring portal/device/whatever will take us to individual scenarios, is it the same for outlands or are they reached conventionally and could they be strung together somehow?
No, the appartment and mektoubs remain the only storage areas, even with the Ring.aardnebb wrote:Will persistant storage space be a possible option as part of a scenario?
Yup, you can give access to a scenario to single characters and guilds. Fame won't be a criteria though. How can you define access to a scenario? IE can you limit to a guild, list of people, by fame (tribe/faction/civ) etc?
I don't know yet; I will probably have more details on this when we actually start developping the Outlands. Will you be able to give someone else "GM" access to an Outland you are paying for? (IE I lack the creative gene, my guildmate is a professional games maker, can I sponser him to create an Outland for us without the sin of account sharing?)
No - if you can't gain experience, there is no reason you should get death penalty when you die...Is there DP in Ring Scenarios?
Certainly not!acridiel wrote:Edit: Can I let go of him now???
