Pfff, now I have to write one!acridiel wrote:So, why don´t you write one?
I´m not into PvP but it sure can be fun and it truly looks like!

The PvP in ryzom comes in different forms, there is the duel, guild versus guild zones, faction versus faction zone(old lands), and the oupost minizone battle.
All these various way's to pvp have different mechanics, different way's to get involved and some are voluntairy, some mandatory. (mandatory in the sense that if you want to be in a GvG zone you have to accept that other guilds can attack you)
Since PvP was a late addition to the game world it has gone through some changes, the developers never had a good idea why they needed PvP but they had to have some, thats why there are these different systems for it.
As far as deciding if it is fun, well, dunno, the (privatly arranged) battle in the old lands was very fun, the taking of the whirling stronghold was gruelingly long and verry fun. I've never had the pleasure of being attacked while digging in the PR, so can't realy describe the awsome super fun that would be.
The reason I made the small comment above was that when asked about the good points of ryzom hardly anybody lists PvP and I wonderd why. Maybe somebody else can give a better explanation, I'm not that experianced with it.
