Exp Crystals are a good "Reward" (Compensation) for time spent doing something that doesnt grant Exp or only low lvls

The problem with Outposts is they are dug Automaticaly not Earned , id still have them associated with OP's but id give them for time spent in OP Battles instead (Based on Combat Skill (lvl) used , amount of actions , time spent etc)

Spire Battles and FvF should give access to them through Faction points hopefully

RP and PvE should get their "slice of the cake" through R2 and Events/Invasions

Each time they are awarded for "Time Spent" (theres a cost) and so dont unbalance the game

I also voted other. There is definately a place for them within the game but I agree with those opinions about them being more limited or having to do something else with an OP to get them.

The EP2 rewards were great, you had a few choices of what you could spend the points on. Maybe a similair thing but the points (instead of cats) your OP earns could be used to buy drill upgrades (amongst other things) so you have to own your op for a length of time before you get a really good drill which in turn means its longer before you reap the full benefit from the OP. A special mat merchant where you can buy harvested mats up to say excellent quality (supreme should remain elusive) thus allowing a guild to make quite high ql gear for their members etc.

We joke about crystal junkies and drug addicts with reference to xp cats but unfortunately it seems that it has got to the stage with some, where they have forgotten how to level. A mere 3k per kill is seen as pathetic xp.

In the long run that can't be good for the game imo but like with anything new in the game, we play it, we "talk" about it ;) and Nevrax usually does something to correct or better it, now it just depends how high on the to-do list it gets...........

Crystals hmm... what should I say as a GL of Guild that manages one of q250 Outposts and provides q250 cats... Yes they either blessing and curse for Atys.
Blessing cause they can shorter time we need for grinding and simply increase the time for other things we wish to do, also they allow to help ppl who can't sacrifice endless hours for gameplay beacuse of their RL.
Curse beacuse they realy addict people and what is the most sad youngest players seems to need them all.
I've been playing since relase and it took me long time to learn game mechanic, learn enviroment, explore the wonders of ecosystems and I still feel the same lowbie's breathtaking feelings when I travel thru Atys beacuse somewhere out there something new awaiting to explore or see. Anyway during all this time I learnt how to make Atys helpful for homins and ie level very very fast but ...where the joy? where is the point for that? I've seen members of my guild who joined only beacuse of our cats drilling, I've seen them begging for more and more, I've seen them mastering multi skills and...the majority of them are gone, burnt out and bored of endless hours of grind in few same spots.
Uff I'm gettting old cause my opininons started to became looong and fairy tales styled... Anyway to stop boring you here are my ideas about cats:
1. They are helpful and should be in game so lets make them harder to obtain- not selfdrilling but ie being able to be digg by Ops owning Guild diggers
2. Make only 2 kinds of cats :
Craft cats - they would be allowed to use after reaching lev 150 at crafting
Normal cats- they could help to level rest of skills after reaching lev 200- I dare to claim that every realy experienced player can show lowbies how to get from lev 30 to 151 in 2 weeks of non hardcore play without cats (I did it myself few times)

This would allow them to became real rewards and reduce grinding :)
And those caped levels 150 (craft) and 200 (rest skills) would asure that homins who reached honour of using them are game- confident players not immature, lost in world Avatars of Ignorance ;)

Dont obeject to crystals, there limited enouth that myself or my guild dont have a permanent supply, there optional so i do not outlevel my friend (and they allow me to catch them back up), they give something good for a guild to fight over, and despite what yo usay, they do show who the decent people are (Guilds like Dragonpaldes, AA and others) who give them out to new players, or people/guilds who dont have any.

I voted other though because id rather see outposts straight up GvG

The question i pose to you is do you honestly think these people would still be playing if there where no crystals?

Id bet they would not, that kind of person would spend even more time grinding, seeing less gain and just get burnt out even more.
Thats not the fault of crystals, thats just the type of player they are

I voted to get rid of them. But that's a very slfish vote. XP crystals are okay in small amounts, but I personally, as a guild leader, am so fed up with them. I'm tired of them. I spend over 75% of my time either giving them out to the guild, giving them away to strangers, or trading them with friends. I'm tired of them. I want to play again.

If I had my way we would. But I don't make those decisions, the guild does.

*completely serious* I guess if I was in a situation like that, I would have to weigh up the pros and cons of being a GL... if the annoying parts (eg crystals for you) outweighed the fun parts (insert example here) then I'd give the GLship to someone else... not saying thats the best solution, but its what I'd do ;) No point playing if you're not having fun and can avoid whats making it not fun :o

Edit: bah, 3rd attempt at writing this post and it still sounds rude :( Isn't meant to be, but I can't seem to make it sound any better
