How many NA players?

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

I would be surprised if there were more than a couple hundred. I would estimate the Zorai population on Windemeer at about 40-50, tops. You see the same people over and over again. I don't think it's such a bad thing, as long as it's sustainable financially...

You know, that is one of the things I really like about this game. The wilderness is just that, wild. You bumb into people out there rarely. Every other game you run around it, people here, people there. Didn't know the the entire landmass was one big urban, cosmopolitan center. Really ruins the game.

But, as you say, can they handle it financially. It just nice going to a town and finding people, but wandering the boonies I find little or none.

Its true that graphics don't make the game, but they can certainly ruin it like WoW's graphics did for me. I'm sorry, but it looks absolutely horrid. I think the graphics in the original Half-Life from 5-6 years ago are better IMO.

ie.. WoW has pooped and Ryzom is still hoping...
Yes, but I'd still rather have hope in both hands than poop in either. ;)

But back on topic... :) ...there are . . . a . . . lot . . . ?

I havent' seen any copies of the game and I doubt the eb people at the tiny mall in this town would have any idea if I asked about.... I wonder if there will be any reaction for the dudes in the red shirts when my friend goes to return the game... as I bet they have never seen it.

I'm in the North. PA... but NY at heart.

As for those other games... I could know less... but only just. I've no interest in those...

(as a note... she's returning the extra copy that got sent... long story... guess I should just be happy it was sent... and then sent again)

I'm in Madison, WI.

Yea, there really isn't much advertising for this game at all, but I do see whole pages and 2 whole pages in computer game magazines in every issue since release, and even during beta, which is a whole lot more than EnB had. I do know that EnB had one small magazine article from beta, and another small one after Ardus was added, and that was all. I give congratulations to Nevrax for advertising this potentially great game.

LOL, that would put about half the Zorai players in Pilgrims of Atys :) We're at best 3rd largest.

Without a doubt the Zorai population hundreds strong, more likely a thousand or two at least. Keep in mind a lot of people avoid the inane chatter on region chat and try to stay out of the area of Zora. So don't expect to encounter everyone who is playing the race.
