I have to agree with the other poster who said, no offense at all to any of my Fyros brothers, but in deciding my character's appearance, I just did not find any Fyros male "look" that worked for me.

It was much easier to work with the Fyros female and create an attractive look for Keena.

Female rp, within reason, has been fascinating at times.

I also found it intriguing to play a plus-size female character ingame, since there are hardly any generously proportioned females of any race on Atys.

I don't mind being different, as long as I can be me. :D

Ah, we could compare with [thread=13656]this one[/thread] and see how it evolved over last year. I thought it interesting back then that the gender amongst characters was almost exactly 50/50, even if it wasn't amongst players.

So far it looks like that's definitely not so anymore. But more voters may still appear over the coming days.

Anyways, boy playing girl here. For a multitude of reasons. I'll admit she's nicer to look at than a male character, which probably does play a part too. But my main reason is that it's just more interesting to try acting out the other gender. Being inside a strange body in addition to being in a strange world, if you will. Also, I found playing a character of the other gender makes me more aware of my own gender stereotypes.

Lastly, I realised that if I switched back to playing a male character, my main reason for that would be "what will other people think of me?", and that's not a good reason.

Not cynic, just truthful. You did after all say "some male players", and some indeed do. Cynic would be "all male players that create female characters". ;)

Definitely not a reason for me though, au contraire. I didn't even really think about it at first. Not until a few months ago when I heard it being mentioned as a possible reason for guys to crossdress. Since then I'm all paranoid ingame whenever someone I don't know acts nice to me. My sympathy for all women, who also have this problem in real life.

There aren't many, that's for sure. As rough estimates, it seems that only about 10% of female gamers play male characters, against up to 40% of male gamers playing female characters. I really do wonder why that is.

I'm a female/famale but I have to admit that my toon Trixie was my Boyfriends toon before I took control. He played SoR before I did. My original character was Leaana. And I do have a male character but I don't play him much since I really don't have the time.

I have to point out that there is a diference in playing the oposite sex, and I think the attraction lies in the freedom one has when Rp'ing the oposite sex. That is the atraction. I find my male character can sometimes earn me some privilages in the sense that he never gets excluded or even consider capricious. Where as Rp'ing Trixie, I have been consider flighty.

Guy playing Guy - for my main that is..

*looks down at sig.. (i said SIG)* but theres also a female down there too! Servelan is the barmaid i created for trixie's bar event way back when. Dont forget to send Nightblade an invitation for Servy to your next event! (only yrkanis right now, gotta jump on a world tour for Servy)

er.. hehe *innocent*

-BTW, it just so happens that Servy is much more liked at events than Nightblade.. she also happens to be very well proportiond :) go figure

Never would have thought I would have an idea even remotely resembling something Jyudas cooked up. :)

Male playing female. Reason? Hadn't ever done it before, all my previous toons in previous MMOs were males. Fancied a change, and I've just settled into being Nillian now. She's like me in a lot of ways, but not in others.

RPing is cool, and it's actually a bit liberating, but I guess that just comes from the anonymity rather than playing a different gender. Plus I get to use words like 'eek!' and 'weeee!' which just kicks ass :p and I get to have Z's undying loyalty :D

I know, and that's cool :) I wasn't making judgements, but tbh I don't think I'd feel right saying those as a male toon. That's just my RP choices though, if I were a male toon I'd probably try to be all tough and stuff, not soft and sweet like Nilly :p
