As you travel about you will see different Kami guardians, some are furry little or BIG creatures, and some are these awful looking skeletons... I suspect all of them are these skeletons and the majority are just hiding in a fur coat.

Noin.

Hmm, interesting. Since your a Matis (or so I'm implying since that's your icon) I guess that means you don't believe the Kamis are there for the good of Atys and homins. I'm having trouble picking a side. I thought that the Karavan were just here to strip the planet of its resources and have some hidden agenda. Sometimes I read a post from someone who says the Kamis have a hidden agenda.

Is there any evidence one way or the other? How are we to pick a side?

I fear all of it is speculation based on the lore of the lands and personal interpretation.

If you look back through the lore, it is the Karavan who saved us from the Great swarming by opening up the rainbows. (But I am sure I will get some debate soon about that. :p )

Find your beliefs, it may take time to do so, talk to many homins, and find the path that fits you, no matter what that is, be true to yourself young homin.

Noin.

OOC, there is no concrete evidence either way for either the Kami or Karavan ways being more right, moral, or noble. Or less subservient.

There may be some evidence that the Karavan are looking to abuse the planet for it's resources, but at the same time it's easily argued the Kami are too interested in maintaining a "balance" in nature and will sacrifice homins to do so.

It's a matter of personal preference really. Read the lore about the Kami and Karavan mindset and go with what feels right. Which could be neutral, all up to you.

Welcome to Atys and hope to see you around
(preferably fighting together for Jena ;) )

I'm afraid it seems at this point-in-time I don't have enough information to make a decision on either Kami or the Karavan. At what point would I need to choose? Is it true then I could be a Matis or Tryker and follow the Kami instead of the Karavan?

no race has to be kami or kara, but matis/tryker are alrdy kara when you create your char, but possible to change, and zorai/fyros are alrdy kami.
my best advise is just create a char and see where it leads you

Not quite true afaik.. we are all neutral when being 'born', but as Kye says, we have a 'natural' alignment towards each of the two cults.

If you choose to go against the 'natural alignment' then its your choice and no one will blame you for making that choice (not even the cult you 'abandoned').

Things changed a bit while you've been gone man, now instead of starting neutral cult and having civ fames, you start off with a non-neutral cult value depending on your race

btw. in the beginning of the saga, Jena was the goddess of atys and not a symbol for the karavan.. "they" changed it later.
