Another thing...
Yes this is a mage dominated game at the end of the day and this is catalysed by new players finding out how quick it is to level ele/heal. I think it is still a joke that ele/heal can be maxed to 250 in a month to 2 months when i was running around with my sword for bloody ages!
I kinda find it funny that so many people level this skill (yeah i know its a very powerful skill) but imo i find it incredibly frustrating standing in a team pressing the same button over and over and over again. Im not sure i will ever reach 250 in magic as i just dont have any interest in it.
I really think that being a warrior is a far more skillful profession especially when you have to time the parry credits, critical credits and feint credits perfectly to get the best use out of them.

rushin wrote:well you play differently to me then. I use head shots all the time in PvP and i've found in the gladiator events most others do as well. it works for me and 5% chance with a maxed speed 1h sword comes around a lot. Also have u tried circular attack with many opponents, that 5% would equate to almost every swing u get hp back - so again i fail to see how that is useless.
When we go boss hunting we always have a tank, sometimes 2 or 3. It's all part of the plan, works out well and is lots of fun for all involved. But then we play to enjoy ourselves not to worry whether there is a better way of doing things.
I'm not sure what sort of answers you were looking for in this post tbh. maybe for everyone to agree that melee is useless?
I really dont understand how you say that. How many opponents you need to get even a 50% of vampirism ? 10 oponents, so how can you say that almost in every swing you get hp back ???
Also you can only stun someone if you get a critical hit, and you also must use the skill to hit head. So, first there is a small chance to get a crit and second if you use skill to hit head then you can not use accuracy or increase dmg. It doesnt make sense choose a skill where you have a very small chance of stuning and just for a very small time when you can choose a secure ability as accuracy + increase dmg. I doubt a lot that any warrior using that skill can win me in a duel if we both have same equipment. And in any case even if you were right its just a 5%, something really low. You get that for every 20 hits, and duels finish before that always. So, maybe just 1 extra stun in a duel or fight if you are lucky.

those 4 are skill trees.
there are no _classes_ in ryzom, just skills.
wikipedia wrote:Classes provide direction and limitations for characters. For example, a thief will usually be provided abilities such as lock picking, but probably would not be able to wield magic as well as a mage (or, depending on the game, possibly not at all). Game designers use the limitations provided by classes to encourage (or enforce) interdependence among characters. Some RPGs restrict the classes a character can choose based on alignment, race, or other statistics, though this is rare among contemporary RPGs.
A common alternative to class-based systems, skill-based systems are designed to give the player a stronger sense of control over how their character develops. In such systems, players choose the direction of their characters as they play, usually by assigning points to certain skills (such as "fighting with a one-handed weapon" or "forgery"). Advancements in class-based systems have sought to provide players similar control by presenting options as the player progresses in level. These options include prestige classes (a form of sub-class that is only available to characters who meet certain prerequisites), multi-classing (advancing a character in two or more classes), and hybrid class/skill systems.

we all knew what he meant, and besides this thread uses the word classes yet you didnt correct that. Whether you say classes or skills it doesnt matter because we all know what you mean

And doustin about your Speed calculation. Yes Launcher speed is max at 12 But you forgot the speed brick which will double it. So its more like 24 vs 38
The sole most irritating thing about Launcher are that you need several days to prepare for a fight (Getting enough mats, Bring your packer to the site of battle, And keep a ammo tool handy to make new ammo all the time)
what is that brick?? Even like that you have to spend too much time and resources compared to nukers.
Kye, the point is that healers and nukers dont need tanks for bosses and they even dont want them. I have been warned by different ppl different times not to use my warrior skill. That is ilogical, it seems an intentional unbalance of game. Thats why it would be fine to know if they are not going to balance this game soon cause in that way i would go out cause there is not other alternative but being healer or nuker. Maybe some ppl just enjoy playing crap classes and they enjoy game with other things dont know, its not my case. Also ppl have not given any good reason that shows that warriors are not almost useless. Dont tell me as a great advantage that i can walk around Atys, cause even if i was better in that that is not a big advantage.

pulling 3 mobs (which is what i always do with or without healer) using circular attack one in 5-6 attacks i will vampire 1.3k hp, hows that not usful? in pvp if u get that its a real boost.
stop being so degative lol

with vamp, you get HP back if you do damage. i _think_, that is vamp is 100HP (for example) and you doing at least 100 damage, you get full 100 HP back (less if you do less damage). that should be _per_ target you hit.
can only say about vamp bomb nuke, but if you time it right, you can rez yourself

Go kill kinkoo, kirokya, kibakoo and tell me having a melee tank isnt easier

I hope I never meet who you're teaming with. Gimme a tank any day. Even in my medium armour, my HPs don't compare to my tank's in heavy. My tank is my distraction so I can stay alive, heal and nuke.
Gimme a melee tank or give me death. (unfortunately that is literal)
