Wait a minute! You mean to tell me that Noin:

o leaves the game occasionally to go to the gym
o is an American
o may occasionally PvP
o has been known to kill Yubos

Wow... just wow....

*goes off an makes a new thread entitled, "it's all Noin's fault!"*

Yes it is :D

And don't worry Vlad it's cool you even thought of us.

But to clear it up.. yes we are open to all newbies.. not that we know EVERYTHING :P but we are learning more everyday, and sharing it within the guild. Makes for acc learning without bothering Vets too much haha ;)

If you or anyone else is interested, plz just give me a mail or /tell in game :D

We are based in the desert... but we make regular trips around atys... thx to TW tho have helped us get TP tickets in the jungle and Lake lands so far, and soon (we hope) the forest too. Btw we are called Emperor's Fist (after the current Emperor's great grand dad)

Anyway enough about the guild :D As to the question of popluation.. we.. we started (me and my 6 mates) about 4 weeks ago... up until now I think I have seen a new face every single day. The desert does have a steady population.. but it's more than that. Each city has a nice stable pop, even places like dryon.. at peak times (for me anyway) i can see up to 40 poeple in pyr/imp dunes alone, at around the same time.. there is 26 in dryon and about 30 in Thoese. That's not counting 4 other regions. I think altho our pop has been pretty steady.. it is also steadly rising.

The jungle has been pretty busy lately. In fact the last time i was there.. i found it more busy than the desert (for once :P ).

The Lake lands seem busy.. but the water has put me off exploring for the time being, So not too sure on how they are doing lately. Altho i think i might visit there this weekend :D

The one area I haven't been they is the forest.. or I have been to the "Valley of instant death" aka Hidden Source.. but Haven't made it past the "sandy" part of it haha.. almost maxed DP trying tho. Still will be over on the weekend to check it out. But I was told b4, that the most populated areas were the forest??

Anyway.. I don't think the server is dying.. and when RR aka R2 comes out.. it may actually make this game popular :D

I for one have 4 storylines written up and ready, 2 of which could be called "epic" style storylines. Each storyline will have (so far) between 2 to 15 quests. :D Yes I have been busy lol

Hopefully... I hope they didn't go the Asheron's Call 2 way but I think this game could be a late bloomer also due to their bad decision/timing to launch the game at the same time with the biggies like WoW, EQ2, Guildwars. I think this game would be more populous once people got tired of WoW/EQ2/GW and start migrating here (like me). Also, if it were up to me I would set up the npcs to give specific quests instead of an npc that gives random collection of tasks. People don't like to do task (it feels like a grind), however with a proper storyline to go with quests it makes the game a lot better.

Game suggestions (hoping the devs read this forum):

* Change the NPC task system, currently the npc gives out a menu of task to do which detracts from the game's immersion greatly. Instead NPCs will give out specific quest with a tied in storyline based on the person's highest fight/magic level. Completing the quest will earn the player some dappers, faction points, specially items, crafting materials (much like Asheron's Call's system). Quality is always better than quantity.

* Add dialogue speeches to Tribal NPCs when reacting to player faction. Really.. it adds soo much immersion into the game when NPC tribals run dialogues like "I smitee thee in the name of the Karavan and the great goddess Jena you dirty Kami bootlickers!" What I am seeing now is NPC sees you and without a single word they blow the day lights out of the player.

* Triggered special events like if you start a certain quest it will start a tribal invasion event which requires you to defend the tribal chief from death. Or say you can take the tribal chief's head strong daughter out for a special date which basically is an npc escort quest and you must protect the chief's daughter from the nasties of Atys such as preditorial animals and bandits. If you suceed then you'll earn the tribal chief's gratitude and if you fail.. then shame on you :P

EQ2 has quests like that...and that is why I didn't try EQ2 for longer than three days. ;) It felt very linear and hand-holding (or dragging-by-the-nose). I like that the story in Ryzom is alive and dynamic, rather than spoon-fed by NPCs.

And the current task system is much better ? I think Asheron's Call quest system is the perfect combination of both dynamic and static content. Its possible to make it that certain npcs will give out specific special quests that provides information such as the location of certain "rare high quality" materials and requires you to mine some for the npc.

I mostly ignore the 'current task system' unless I want fame with some tribe/race. It's not major content in the game and I don't expect it to be.

What do you consider as "major content" ?

Events, particularly RP events, both official and player-run. Everyday RP with other players. Because nothing gives me more enjoyment than developing my characters.
