But unless someone wants to buy me a new computer, I can't test at a higher frame rate
Lend the equipment you used to someone who has the same lvls as you but a different (better?) computer setup
or perhaps itd be better for both the test subjects to make a noob char to make sure there are no other factors apart from net and comp spec

This seems like a very serious issue to me!
While I understand lag and computer speed may have some effect, I think there's obviously a bug issue here.
60hpm daggers only attacking at 35??? That's not just frame rate. A 1H sword went FASTER!
Has anyone reported it?

I agree completely. While lag may have some impact on the numbers, maybe accounting for the 36 (actual) HPM on a 38 (weapon speed) HPM weapon. However I doubt such lag issues would account for a 25 HPM difference. Sounds like a bug to me.

The 36 instead of 38 and such could also be rounding errors. It matters whether I stop counting just after or just before an attack. And my minutes may sometimes be 59 or 61 seconds.
Though I do always find a lower speed than it says on the weapon, never a higher one, so there must indeed be some actual slowing down due to lag involved.
Anyways, it's not that a 60 speed dagger only does 35 hpm in reality that bugs me the most. All that means is the speed statistic shown on the weapon is wrong and daggers are even more underpowered than we thought. What bothers me is that a 46 speed and a 60 speed dagger
both do only 35 hpm! That means that the speed stat on daggers doesn't matter at all!

Yep, tested that particular one three times to be sure, because the difference is so small. But each time I counted 36 hits from the sword and only 35 from the dagger.
No, haven't reported it yet. I figured they'd notice this thread. And I was hoping to hear if I'm the only one having this problem first, to determine where exactly the problem lies.
So get testing, you

Yarg, I need my computer back. Otherwise I'd try to contribute as much info to this as possible. Daggers are my favorite weapon so this is pretty interesting to me. Hopefully I'll get my machine back middle of the week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Someone give me a holler IG and lets have several of us test this together so we can give them a fairly decent evaluation of his findings.
We don't all lag the same and we should be able to give some decent feedback.

I did testing and came to basically the same conclusions.
56 HPM dagger --> counted 36 hits in a minute, twice
I reported in a bug report to a GM. He suggested it may have been a bug introduced by a recent patch, but I feel such a giant slow down would have been noticed by anyone leveling daggers if it happened over night.
Attempted the same data for 1H sword, but it's very close to the listed speed and I couldn't really come to any specific conclusions about it. Human error in timing is enough to throw that off as well as any computer lag.
However, from 56 to 36 is not human error and not lag. It's a huge issue that needs to be addressed. Currently, daggers are totally useless. I used to think it was the best choice for interruptions against mages, but when a 1H sword goes the same speed and does much more damage, what's the point?
The GM said no other reports had been submitted on the issue. I know some argue more tickets doesn't make a difference, but at least I won't look like a loon if more people submit it as well

the problem is that nobody uses daggers because it's so useless...
now i understand why...
that's probably why nodoby noticed before.
good job guys

can confirm this, actual speed = 35 on lowest gfx settings possible and 70+ frames
with knifes that should have 50
