Raynes, as I said, I hope you are happy where you are.
This is the community forum for Ryzom.

notice the little smiley face at the end there? stop taking his jokes so seriously. jeez, nit-picking every word.gralen wrote:The intent with the show of guild numbers is to let people get an idea of whether the guild represented is large or small and also a chance for them to contact members to find out what the guild is really like (versus contacting an officer who will always claim how mighty the guild is ).

The question asked originally was why we had negative fame with the Tryker. The answer would be game mechanics. Balance. This minor fame disadvantage (-8) is something that can be surpassed by an individual in less than one day. Why someone feels obligated to limit themselves and flame others base on a history that is spotty and inconsistant at best baffles me.raynes wrote:Funny how the truth gets twisted. I was a member of CP for a very short time. While I was a member CP announced an alliance with a Tryker based guild. Upon hearing this I asked the following question: "Why do we have an alliance with a group that the Zorai have a negative faction with?". The answer was "That's a good question". Upon further discussion of why the Zorai have a negative faction with the Trykers, the answer given by the leader of CP was "I don't know". So CP was making choices about their alliances and their future without any idea of the past or reason behind things.
No, that wasn't the answer that was given. You, yourself said "I don't know". My issue was that you were making decesions about alliances totally absent of any reguard for the story or the background of the game. It's not a mattter of limiting things it's a matter of making decesions based up facts. One of which was when we had the hero visit and we were flat out told to be wary of the Trykers playful ways.pandorae wrote:The question asked originally was why we had negative fame with the Tryker. Just to chime in on this point, I've noticed all the people ignoring existing civilization differences taking the "why not let old hates die" approach when trying to justifying that decision when any RP issues are brought up. Which is fine. More power to you. It certainly works right now. However, given that the storyline of SOR is such an integral part of the immersion factor, imo, I have to wonder if you are not excluding yourself from much of the future content by adopting this point.pandorae wrote:This minor fame disadvantage (-8) is something that can be surpassed by an individual in less than one day. Why would we possibly forsake an alliance with a respectable and forthright group of individuals so similar to ourselves based on the prejudices that were passed on?
Ok, with that in mind, what do I have to do to lower my Tryker fame then...or any other civilization for that matter?pandorae wrote:Actually we had wondered about that at first ... Increasing Tryker fame does not affect Zorai fame at all. While Zorai start out with a lower Tryker fame, there is no cross-effect to raising it later in game.
