If the OP is owned by a guild, then attackers will fight the NPC's placed by the guild PLUS anyone that enters the OP and chooses "Defence".
If it's just owned by the Maurauding Raiders, then it's purely NPC's. (well, unless someone *wants* to interfere. I suppose they could. Just head to the OP and select defence)

Nope, neutral or attack. you cannot choose defend on an npc owned outpost.
About the other part:
Okee, so outpost battles can become *really* messy then. I am thinking of hordes of kami/karavan/random idiots turning up to join the fray.

Guild that attacks or defend can ban players or whoile Guilds from "helping " them...ie sabotageurs.
