There's nothing stopping neutrals from taking an outpost and placing a drill/trepan on them.

most (all possibly) games i have played with FvF/RvR whatever you want to call it dont have neutral faction.. the very concept is questionable. you pick race X, you become aligned to faction Y and have the benefits assosiated with it.
i am still confused about why Nevrax are spending their dev time trying to add in support for neutrals. Atys is governed by the kami and karavan. they control everything, every player makes use of thier services. Trying to force in a neutral faction just seems to be making a mess of things.
To those of you that want to be neutral i have a question, why do you expect to have all the benefits that a factioned player would have? we live with our gods close by, you have a choice not to follow them and it will prove a more difficult road if you do so. Just because in the past we could all do everything is not a good reason! There used to be so much talk on these forums about the game not moving forward, no rich story, etc, etc. Now it is everyone would prefer the devs not to bother? These changes are imo things that would have been good to have in game from the start, as they make sense in the context of the lore. they werent, as no mmog launches with every feature intact and working as intended.

I don't mind the TP changes myself. Mostly because the high level area (with the exception of Matis) aren't reachable at the moment with the tps in them anyway.
The only thing I can think of I would want to go to PR is Supreme mats and black/white mats. Or maybe a boss mob.
If anything, getting areas with Supreme up to Q250 in the homelands would be nice. Ohhh new areas! First some Outposts tho yay!

Someone gave me a bag of cookies and said: "here, for you" I thanked him, took a cookie from the bag and ate it. It was a very nice cookie but before I could get an other one from the bag he took it from me and gave me an other bag. The cookies in this bag didn't look quite as good but I tried one anyway. The cookie was ok but not as tasty as the one from the bag I had before. To make matters worse there are fewer cookies in this bag...
Now I wonder, was I treated fairly?
(Now imagine I actually payed for that large bag of delicious cookies...)

However, let me take a different approach here. What kind of things do you expect to get as a Neutral (remember this has to make sense both for game mechanics AND with the story. Kara/kami aren't gonna bend over backwards and give rewards to those who defy them). Creating a whole new "faction" doesn't work, as Aajolea has pointed out, since they lack unity in their goals. Some are pacificts who want no war, others want the ability to do everything they can, just not commit themselves to a faction. So instead, the neutrals should get all the TPs, while those who had the courage to commit themselves to a faction lose half of them? and why would that make sense in a roleplay sense? the kara/kami just decided to let them compete with those who are faithful? doesn't make sense.
So, you're neutral, you get some of the cookies. You're kami, you get some of the cookies. And you're kara, you get some of the cookies. None of them get ALL of the cookies and thats the way it should be. If one side got ALL, then everyone would be neutral, but not pacifists, which makes no sense either, since it'd be everyone under the neutral banner, yet still RPing their current stance. The 'neutral' kami battling for the 'neutral' kara outposts, etc.
So all in all, if you have the faith and are willing to prove it, you're granted rewards. If you shun the gods, then by all means be prepared to rely on only yourself and those willing to take the same path as yourself. You're not losing all the TPs and rites, just SOME of them. The kami and kara were kind enough to offer those who shun them some reward, perhaps as a symbol of what they could offer if that neutral char were to join them.

When you're trying to convert someone, you don't talk to your choir to try to convert them. You go to those who are outside. Those who are "neutral". You woo them. You make them promises. You try to show them that you "all that". You don't shun them, you cozy up to them. Make them see the light.
I personally would only ask for 2 tp's to be added to the neutrals list. And that would be a TP into a PR zone. Don't care which one it is, just one of them. (I say 2 cause one Kami and one kara)
Otherwise I've found ways around the annoyance of the boxes they're making. Nothing I can do about it cause a neutral alignment wasn't thought of so we gotta work with what we have. Fine. I may not like it, but I can live with it.
Oh and why don't I walk away from the game? Cause I like it. Even with all the potential problems facing us I like this game. And I like the people I talk to everyday because of it.

They have done that. They've given you access to their TPs in all of the 150 zones and some of the 200s. Thats the catch right there, the end of the "kami/kara trial".
