I'm playing Ryzom for almost 2 months now and these are the things I like the most about it :

- The People/Community (the non-WoW mentality)
- The Atmosphere/Environment ...
- The Skill Tree
- The stanzas

Why do I keep playing :

- the promise of R2 (this made me start playing it)
- Outposts
- I want to raise my levels and want to know the game better before the release of R2
- I just like it :)

When I first read your post, I did think you were having a go but then I re-read it and realised you were trying to be positive (proves you should always read things twice before jumping in with a response). If I read it right, you're saying that people have complained about recent developments but are still playing the game. You wanted them to post those reasons to give others (including the devs) an idea of what's right about the game. You want people to discuss the postive aspects of what draws them into Atys time after time, even when certain things might disillusion them. Am I right? For that I applaud your sentiments.

I would have to say it's the people as well. I still enjoy logging in even if just for a chat. I also still find motivation in levelling, never been a power leveller so I don't feel the need to rush things. It also helps that I don't log in for long periods due to RL commitments, few hours a day. I love this game for what it was before EP2, I worry for its future - hence the avatar. I think that this game can't lose more 'old timers' and survive. I hope that some will stay, I hope others will return (stares hard at Neun ;) ). I will never be conviced that PvP is the future of Ryzom. This game has the potential to be a great game, I hope I get to see that potential realised. I think that above all else is why I am still here.

My sub also runs out in December, but I WILL be renewing for one month at a time for now, instead of 3 like before. I hope to still be here when they shut the servers down for the last time. ;)

kuroari wrote:*rolls eyes* Don't let the matis fool you goniko :) he's jsut too vain to admit R2 might be worth it - we'll just have to wait and see (personaly i doubt ill be using R2 to make anything or even play games (till ppl figure the bugs out) but u never know)

Welcome to Ryzom :D
R2 type plans are often last ditch atempts for MMORGPs so i wouldnt base all your expectations on it, but lets hope i am wrong :)

Are they? So tell me, were did something like R² come up before?
And i don´t mean "level" Editors or something like that.
Ah and btw. a freind just reminded me that many, many people had waited two Years for Diablo II to show up and they still enjoied it, despite of it beeing very, very late. ;)
Personaly I think that people leaving now for whatever reason are going to miss one hell of a rollercoaster ride, just that wer´re right now though a "valley" and ar on our way up again to another dive into FUN! :)
Call ma a Fanboy if you like, but I´ll stick with it. And hopefully will be one of those to say: `told ya so. In the End :D

And if not, well I enjoyed my ride. :p

Speaking from the perspective of one of those leaving, I hope you're right. There's nothing I want more than a reason to return. I'll gladly accept an "I told ya so" in the future if I find myself drawn back into Atys.

Well said. I don't think you're a fanboy, just an optimist. :)

Personally, I'm a little bit pessimistic about the future but I wont let that stop me. I hope one day, in about 6 and a bit years time (when the planned 8 year cycle is complete), I am still here and can wish all the friends I have made goodbye as the servers shutdown. :D

That's my major hope, that people will find themselves drawn back to Atys. I wont be one of those saying "I told you so", I'll be welcoming you back with open arms. ;)
