A few hundred emotes, 3 languages, text file... 3 man - day? (just guessing)
The fix you suggest would really require much time, but since I never saw a emote where the gender refernce was right, I guess the mechanism to differ between genders works pretty fine, it only uses the wrong resource files.

So if that part is cleanly set up, the whole work estimates at 1 hour with all stuff required for revision control.

Tbh, I really don't know. If all the emotes are wrong, then it means just a switch is needed (I mean, using his for females and her for males). I assumed all emotes were male or simply all mixed up, regardless of the gender. I also don't know if the emotes are kept in .rc files that can be easily modified, compiled in ressource dlls (i18n and l10n dlls are not in Ryzom dir, afaik), or hardcoded in the inner core of the game. I also don't know if the chat/sysinfo system is decoupled or highly integrated, so it's hard to evaluate the complexity. Of course, only Nevrax knows the effort required. I was just stating that it doesn't 'seem' complex, but I can be wrong.
