Ok for us thickies can you make this more clear:
"Jena can compensate for a lack of construction materials, though this will be limited to but a few temples, only the temples that have been most completed so far will benefit from the intervention of Jena."
Does this mean only the temple that has progressed the most or all of those that have been started or what?
Is this intentionally unclear?

There are fewer homins on the Arispotle shard, shouldn't we be making a smaller temple?
(Hint: On the smaller shards can the amount of materials required to complete the Sanctuary and Temple be reduced?)
That way the Kami and Karavan don't need to intervene so frequently.

Homins, I bring you tidings of yesterday's announcements! It was reputed that the Karavan spoke the following words at the gathering:
Loyal warriors and servants of Jena!
It is now my task to inform you that another source of the valuable material is nearly depleted.
You have done well homins, Jena looks upon you all with benevolent eyes. Be assured your sacrifices will be remarked and rewarded, when the temple of Jena is completed. Every homin who has done well will be immortalized in her halls!
The building process is well down the line because of your strenuous efforts! Despite the attempted disturbances of the Kami warriors, you defeated them and overcame all!
I am proud of you all as is the Goddess herself!
Again you have proved that false gods and demons grow pale when faced with the might of Jena and cannot withstand her light. However, the time is running short, the gates to the Lakeland will not stay open for much longer. There are precious few resources left in this region.
This is why you must not hesitate, honourable warriors of Jena! Go and protect your precious harvesters who are able to gather the necessary means, so that Jena's light may shine over Atys! The temples must be completed! We will not let them stop us! Together we will defeat the false beliefs and Jena will return to a free Atys!
Now go with the knowledge that the grace of Jena is with all who are harmed in the fight, and that you have nothing to fear despite the temptation of the demon Ma-Duk!

Furthermore, the Kami had the following to report to their followers:
Friends and brothers of the faith, Listen to me!
Once again we have gathered here to see how the work of those loyal to Ma-Duk is going.
You have achieved great things, but you have been defeated by Jena's troops and noone could have prevented them from carrying out their shameful depletions of the very heart of Atys. They were simply too strong and Atys understands this.
Yet please do not give in, the buildings for Ma-Duk's honour must be finished! It is essential that you resist the army of the Karavan and stop them from polluting and spoiling the resource deposits. Stand fast against the waves of enemies with all your strength and your belief, and protect those who thankfully take what Atys gives us.
The unnatural constructions of the Karavan are blights in the lands, their darkness spreads like the Goo which poisons Atys. Keep the flame of belief in Ma-Duk for this conflict, so that the faithful will be encouraged by the oriflamme of brightness to the fray. May his sanctuaries shine in the glory of this belief and chase away the darkness and the dreary chill of the Karavan.
Protect Atys with all the might we taught you.
And hurry, this part of Atys' benison will dry up fast. There is only a little of this most precious material left. Take it for yourselves and for Ma-Duk and build with your hands and hearts the home of truth and the future of Atys!

Lastly, mysteries were unveiled by both parties, with promises of more to come...
"What will happen to the buildings? Some haven't a properly build root/pedestal and we can't find shell in the new region, can they be done though or will the sanctuary/temple collapse?"
Your deity can compensate for a lack of construction materials, though this will be limited to but a few temples, only the temples that have been most completed so far will benefit from the intervention of your deity. Also the faithful ones have interest to work on the most completed temples
"Why do we need to fight the other faction, why can't we just work side-by-side?"
Jena and Ma-Duk fight against one another, your goal is not only to build temples but to build more than your opposing faction
"Why did we need to dig materials when our deities could simply boost them themselves?"
The temples will be a covenant between the the deities and all homins. For such a bond to work, each party must make an investment in it. The homins do so by collecting resources and building the parts, and your deity will do so by investing a share of their power in them.
"Why these aelius and olkern names?"
Aelius Dunes
Aelius was a Fyros general of great reputation. He was in charge of training young Fyros recruits for the armies. His favourite expression was “Sweating prevents bleeding”. No training was too hard or intensive when it came to making the Fyros the best warriors of all of Atys, After years of vainly trying to change the Fyrosian traditions, Aelius left his responsibilities in the Imperial Army so that he could devote himself to improving the training of the Fyros warriors. Followed by a few of his friends, he went in search of a place in the desert which would be suitable to build a training base for the future warriors of Fyros. After a long search he finally discovered a series of dunes surrounding a plains, and within a few months his training camp was completed.
During the years the Aelius Dunes saw an ever increasing number of Fyros who came there to enhance their combat skills. The skill of its disciples brought Aelius great fame and eventually his program was adopted as the official training program which is still used today throughout the Fyros Empire. Although the original training camp was destroyed in the Great Swarming, it’s ruins is rumoured to be located underneath the Kami encampment.
Olkern Lake
Olkern was one of the best and most adventurous poets of the Trykers. His exploits, whether real or imaginary, that he wrote of were very popular in his days. Tales such as “Matis and the king of the Bodocs” enjoyed untold fame among all the homin peoples, though perhaps not among the Matis aristocracy themselves. Olkern had chosen a peaceful place where he could compose his poems, an isolated lake. Upon this lake he had built a floating house, one of great beauty. Unfortunately, Olkern’s house and indeed much of his writing has disappeared during the Great Swarming.

My take on this is Jena will help build the Karavan temples that have the highest completion. Ma-duk will help build the Kami ones. So the Fyros/Zorai Karavan ones are still 0% complete.
My memory is a bit hazy but I thought that before the previous divine boost, the main Kami/Karavan temples were on about 14%/15% respectively. The Karavan temple had more Pedestal (Root) constructed so that part got completed by Jena. A proportional amount of the Kami root got added and probably a proportional amount to each temple (i.e. doubling the current amount has already been suggested).
Anyway, who understands the minds of the gods? I think the message is clear: build more than the other side. If your side is behind then that means digging more, if it's ahead then you can either dig to stay that way or disrupt the other faction. If I was working for the Kami I'd be very defensive right now

I can't help but notice that that doesn't actually answer the question.

And Jena and Ma-Duk care because?:
1) They have low self esteem and only having more than everyone else can compensate for this.
or
2) They are intolerant paranoids.
or
3) They believe that the one that shouts the most is right.
or
4) All of the above.

Nor is it a good reason. "We fight because we always have." How about learning from your mistakes? 'Gods', who'd have them?
So what if Jena and Ma-duk fight? Doesn't mean we have to sink to their levels. We could aspire to be better than them. We could aspire to build a peaceful Atys.
