...Jyudas, weren't you the one talking a few days ago about the many meanings of "honour" ? It's about the same here : several meanings. In this case, one of the meaning may be offending, so it's been removed, that's all. No big deal.... no censorship, no disrespect... stop the paranoia please, everyone.
I don't know... use the "owned by nevrax" avatar if you want and forget about it.

This thread is very silly, the english forum is becoming very very... ugly, with ugly posters. That's the word :(

When things go bad, just take a break. Travel... I don't know. You're talking about dictatorship but you're all becoming small dictators on this forum, as noone can read something else than complains about EP2.
There's a limit between sharing dissatisfaction and randomly complaining :/

i must agree, and hope that Jolt, the Nevrax Devs, Community Liason dont take it personnally, it is aimed at THE EVENT MANAGER. The devs do a great job (doing what they are told), community liason are under alot of strain and reply nicely with great effort, and Jolt, i wont ever hear a bad word about them, else you`d have me to mess with

Nobody's concerns have been remotely addressed yet an avatar protest - not a big thing - has been responded to very quickly.

It creates a very bad impression.

Threads aren't going to get any better until Nevrax says or does something to make things better.

Since the uproar we have had the announcement of MORE PvP and censorship - neither of which are going to help matters.

That's just the way it is I'm afraid! :(

I tend to see them this way:
1. An announcement of new features and Content (would you prefer none?)

and

2. Not censorship, but awareness. You still have your protest, just spend a little time and consider the moniker you choose. Your protest has just as much power as it did before, maybe more.

And lastly, you know better than to think that responses to a crowd as unruly as you lot should be quick and hastily sent when referring to details which you will undoubtedly nit-pick apart and ***** about each piece induvidually and just as loud as currently. The decision about your symbol was not one that required nearly as much crafting of response. I should think you and the others would realize this as well.

It IS NOT possible to flip a switch and make the event be the way you want it unless you want it turned off for 3 months while they do it. I fear in that case you and a boat load of others would be screaming just as loud that they took away the content, we have no new content in X many months, blah blah blah.

Take a deep breath and a short walk man. If you don't enjoy this part, all of Atys still remains, the same as it was before your started griping about EP2 and AD.

Noin. (BTW, I feel your pain and wish for everything to be better. I know the next event will be, in fact I think they patched this one to address some issues that they could rather quickly.)

Yes, I'd prefer none until some kind of balance was given. As was it was like booting people while they were down. Again, something that should have been foreseen.

Given the uproar, fuss and cancellations some contrasting announcement would have, could have, should have alleviated the problem somewhat.

Oh, don't get me wrong, they have every right to do so. I just think it was a very, very, very stupid thing to do in the situation - particularly in the way it was done. Again, making the situation worse - in a fashion that was entirely predictable.

Asking people might have worked, rather than forcibly changing their settings AND it makes it look like the staff are wasting their time on that rather than answering queries and concerns.

This has been going on for nigh a week now, more than enough time for SOMETHING placatory to come out. They seem to have failed to predict community reaction at every turn here, something that leaves me somewhat concerned - perhaps more than the changes themselves!

(
I narrowly avoiding being blown up in the London bombings and I don't really appreciate it being used to demonstrate people's feelings about a game. It was an (honest I hope) mistake to use it in the first place or any similar real world symbol. Please just use grimjim's one and be done with it.

agreed.... and considering the number of threads that are all starting about the same exact things, I think we've moved on to the randomly complaining stage.

I'm sorry but I can't agree with you there. If someone found the image offensive it needed to be removed quickly. You can't wait for people to respond to a PM.

I didn't know what the black ribbon represented. They are ribbons for everything. It's hard to keep track of them all.

I realize that you're emotionally charged and not without good reason. But it's time to let the ribbon "situation" go. The forum moderators did their job. Maybe they should close this thread and let it drop off the page.

[QUOTE=dc77066]The ribbons can mean many things.
Even black ribbons.
One association holds not unreasonable meaning to me.
Even if I had been the one offended, doing this right now was a bloody silly idea.
