SEED is in development.
I'll give Outposts a look-see first, but frankly, currently I feel more like selling my Fairhaven appartment, packing all my stuff onto my packers along with mats enough to build a new house, saddling up on my mount and leaving for a new part of Atys. There is supposed to be a lot more area out there.
Anyone want to join the trek?

Hmm, sounds like quite a letdown to me.
So let me get this straight:
No Kitin raids
No Guild Missions
No Tribe raids
No Diplomacy option
No Fame interaction or importance
No Option for Non-PvPers
No role for foragers
Please tell me I'm wrong, but it sounds like Outposts are going to be a huge disappointment.

I agree, as stated by Xavier in French forums, there is no specific role for foragers
, except being a means to produce funds to pay for outpost expenses....

Foragers do what they usually do and dig but they can get additional mats from the outpost magic foraging building which will make it easier on you.

No it will not.
The mats that are created in the outposts will only benefit the crafters since those mats are new to the game and ONLY can be used in the new crafting plans.

hmm well perhaps the mats could be interchangable. Like use Excellent Dung Fiber or use Excellent Out-Post-Generated-Mat for even-extra-specialness. That way us folks who do like foraging will still have jobs
Or just change the Auto-Mat-Generator-Shed the Auto-Mat-Storage-Shed for auto collecting the special mats that the foragers with the special prospecting skills collect. ;D

Maybe, but they aren't. Keeping being wishful, but I wished for Outposts as they were described in beta, launch, and the manual. Instead wishful thinking has lead me to Notum Wars take 2... which I came to Ryzom originally to get away from.
Somehow Nevrax's new recipe for success seems to be to copy other games poorly and not implement any of their own good original ideas.

I could not agree more with that. By doing so they are effectivley digging their own grave I think.
