I think you need to seriously reconsider your stance on not creating "specific gameplay for neutral players".

I completely agree. I don't enjoy PvP and I don't really rp either.

I agree to this opinion, I really loved the idea to fight intelligent kitins, wars versus kitins to reclaim our lands. PvP in certain areas like PR is a good idea and people enjoy PvP could have alots of fun there.

Due to the recent changes I see Ryzom more and more becoming mainstream, if I may name the game WoW like. Did we miss large scale PvP? Did Ryzom need it at all? I am disappoined too, the kitin setting was just awesome but those recent "new features" look like a step in the wrong direction to me. How did I enjoy raids/invasions during betas - where are they now? We had like 1 in 6 months?

But fear not, maybe Nevrax is aware of that and the Kitins will strike once the homins are distracted by the war and realize their true enemy and unite again in an outraging war against the new kitin threat!

But you never know what will happen next, so lets just await the direction nevrax will chose and maybe my tiny post can make a person involved into Ryzom thinking for a second.

Edit: I also agree with the previous post from Sekhmet

So it sounds like they're assuming all players that aren't into PvP are roleplayers. How in the world are those two mutually exclusive? I don't particularly like either RP or PvP.

I want gameplay that doesn't involve PvP, not just roleplay. I want to do things like build buildings, work to open and explore new lands, discover the history of atys, and uncover the mystery of the kami and karavan. Why would these gameplay elements have to always be factioned PvP combat?

you do realize that neutrality is something that is purely rp and only exists between you, the kami and the karavan?
There is nothing honorable about a 250 fighter/mage killing a 250 harvester unless that harvester is also 250 fight/mage.
as was explained elsewhere and confirmed by xavier this has nothing to do with our modern conceptions. the points simply indicate how much honour you have in the eyes of the kami/karavan, similar to the fame.

Then its still not honour. Its favour.
Honour carries connotations of chivalric values, bravery and so on. Such is not evidenced by nuking helpless people from a safe distance, kincher training and so on.

It may meet with approval from our space bat overlords, but that's not the same thing as honour.

Bomber Harris ordered and organised the firebombing of German cities in WWII. That was not an honourable action but it was an effect one for which he was honoured. There's an important difference.

The concept of honour should be prevalent in pretty much all the cultures except the Tryker since the level of WWI technology/warfare hasn't really been reached yet. WWI in our world was the event that pretty much killed off the concept of honour and a 'fair fight'.

Only because that's what the devs are forcing on us because they've decided to not provide any "specific gameplay for neutral players". As I said in my post, I think this is a huge mistake on their part and will lose them a lot of players, myself included most likely.

How about something to show what materials are in storage at what levels at the temple camps? So foragers know what to get.

hopefully someone can answer this:
Is it possible that some "Stele of Valor" will not be built ?
or is the event last as long as neccessary to build all 4 buildings in each land + one Kami building in tryker ?

nevrax wrote:Neutrality in the on-going conflict will definitely be an option; there won't be specific gameplay for neutral players, but a roleplay ground and specific instructions will be given shortly. You'll have your own way of influencing the Episode 2 outcome.

Please note, that it is only said, that there won't be specific gameplay for neutral players. Neutral in this context means probabply "I don't want to support any of the both factions".
Hence, Non-PvP gameplay-content for non-neutral homins is not excluded, yet.

True, but I am still curious about the non-appereance of Tryton and his guild.
