Gaming rig I built last fall:

Case: Lian-Li PC-61 black mid-tower
PSU: Enermax EG465P-VE FM 460W
Motherboard: Asus K8V SE Deluxe "WI-FI", chipset VIA K8T800/VT8237
Processor: AMD socket 754 Athlon 64 3000+
Memory: 1GB DDR400 Kingston ram
GPU: MSI Radeon RX9800 XT
Hard Drive(s): Two 74gb WD 10,000rpm Raptor SATA in RAID 0 config
Optical Storage: Lite-On 8x DL DVD-+ RW burner
B/U Optical Storage: Lite-On Combo 16xDVD/52xCD drive
Audio: Onboard AC'97
Network Card: Onboard Gigabit
Operating System: Windows XP Home SP2
Monitor: Samsung S/M 753DF 17" CRT (kept over from my last pc)
Keyboard: Logitech Cordless LX700
Mouse: Logitech Optical LX700
Headphones: Sony MDR-V150
Speakers: Altec Lansing VS4121 31w 2.1 channel speaker system (kept over from my last pc)

I've been very happy with its performance so far. I get about 45 to 65 fps on Ryzom with all the eye candy turned on @ 1280 X 768 resolution @ 75mhz. I don't seem to have encountered a game that really taxes my system yet except for maybe the Star Troopers demo. People ask me why I don't upgrade my monitor because its hard to find a new one with as good as picture as mine. If it aint' broke why fix it. :)

edit: should be able to read my post better now lol.

got my current pc since summer '03 and am happy with it:

P4 HT 3GHz
1GB Kingston mem, DDR400
2x80gb Maxtor IDE, 7.2krpm harddisks
HIS Excalibur x800 IceQ-II graphics card
onboard gigabit, DLink wirelessLAG card 802.11b/g
Superflower 550W PSU
some fancy casemod stuff (sidewindow, neon strings, uv coldlight cathode, etc.)
a silver->black sprayjob on the case, featuring a dragon on the sidepanel now

runs ryzom steady between 20 and 60ish fps, fast enough to capture vids with fraps while playing without any major slowdowns.

[slightly OT]
seeing that rrwfreak mentioned headphones: if someone of you plans to get a new headset, go for a usb one! they integrate into your system as a new sound-device. you'll hear voice-chat via headset, game sound via normal speakers (freely configurable of course so you can have both on the speakers or the headset if you want)
[/slightly OT]

Might as well join in and add my pc specs

Case: Coolermaster Wavemater
PSU: Thermaltake 420W
Motherboard: Gigabyte 8KNXP
CPU: P4 3.2 (older chipset)
Ram: 1.5gb
Video: Power color Ati X800 pro (256mb)
3 sata hdd 120gb 200gb 300gb (bought only last week)
2 cd drive one cdrw the other dvd reader.

apart from the occasional bios problem when installing windows not that i have to do that often it works perfectly.
as for being built to play ryzom it was built to play pretty much anything. Ryzom -max graphics works well the only issue is when you get an event with 50+ players

bandwidth problems are no concern this game works well over dialup (56k - has been tested by a friend)
