Any chance of tweaking the animations and trying again?

It seemed that it was only a NO vote as a few animations were not favoured.

I guess a few tweaks will be made eventually and we'll have another chance to take those beautiful animations, but as many people have already said, no doubt there are far more pressing projects to be worked on. It wouldn't surprise me if all the work we've just turned down was actually done in someone's own time. How many salaries do 900 subscriptions pay for, after all? (Taking the number of votes as some indication of subscription numbers.)

My thanks to the 3Dteam, I loved all the animations and still hope I might get on to the ATS to try them out if they're still there :)

It's a nigh-impossible job to come up with artwork that everybody likes. On the other hand, it's also a pain in the *** to have the people you're doing it for hovering over your shoulder. The modelers/animators did a da*n fine job :) .

Didn't I say that?

Of course, I'd give Fyros more base hit points, Tryker more base focus, Zorai more base Sap and Matis a smaller bonus to both Sap and Focus as well, and the resistances, and I'd put in more fame related encyclopaedia missions with special racial abilities... and RP props and fix the emotes... but some characterisation through animations would be nice too and just as important :)

The best option to give us would be to be allowed to pick and choose which animations we use for our character and to add the other sit actions as emotes, as has been suggested.

I'd like to walk and run like the Fyros animation and sit like a Zorai please :)

I'd also like the option to lie down and take a nap, maybe that could be an alternate AFK when in the sitting position.
Now these I'd vote YES to! :)

Big thanks to animators for your effort. Cause i voted yes i naturally feel a bit sad how things went. No matter what, for using democratic system there is always some ppl who dont get what they wish. Anyway, keep up good work. Im sure there is some solution to make everyone happy. At least, i hope for. :)

As someone who voted no, I do also want to speak out and say it wasn't based on the ability of the artists.

My no vote was based entirely on that I didn't think the fine animations were thematically appropriate for ... well let me be specific. I don't think Zorai should lumber around like Baboons. They did a fine job of modeling it and they did an excellent job of modeling a thematically appropriate sit animation for the Zorai.

I hope that soon the good animations can be sorted out from the bad ones and patched live though I know it won't be in the next patch.

Remember though that very very few players of an MMO ever look at the website, much less read the forums, and much less participate in the forums.

That's only when they are not bored, looking for news of further development and watching for the innevitible delays. In lots of ways Ryzom is the exception rather than the rule.
