I don't like em.

The community didn't request them and there were a whole lot of other things the time developing these could have been used on. Like fixing some of the long standing issues that fill the forums pages.

Ecample: The use of ATI video cards in this game have been problematic from as far back a pre-release. It has not been fixed yet. How many hours do you think players and support personnel have spent tweaking settings so that owners of these cards could play the game? How many long term players have gone out and spent the bucks to get a video card that would work with the game?

Come on Nevrax !

OK Ozzy... you are assuming that every developer of this game has the skills to work on the video engine and fix the problem in your example. I wouild assume that that is not the case, since most 3D animators aren't normally well versed in the base code for the video engine, normally they just know how to use it and make things look cool. :)

As far as the animations go, I have not seen them yet, but am all for them myself, differences in the races is a good thing and I can get used to new stuff very quickly.

Just to clarify a bit. The (dev) team doing animations, objects and art work are rarely involvelved in programming, and I will presume that is the case for Nevrax as well.
Since we can speculate that the art team are done with outposts and the statues, they are now working on other new content. We (the community) don't have to ask for stuff for it to appear, Nevrax appear willing to make new stuff for us to enjoy.
I, for one, am glad to see them throw new stuff at us for our enjoyment. It shows that they are still working on progressing the game along what was planned and invisioned.

Aly, I'm making the assumption that there are peeps on the staff who do animations and peeps that do programming. If Nevrax reduces its animation staff and expands its programming staff then we might see less "unrequested" tweaks of the animation and (underline the following word) perhaps see the older known issues with the game fixed.

If my assumptions are incorrect then I might have to concede the point. As i alluded to in another post Western Digital would not keep fifteen EE's on staff at a given plant unless they had work for those fifteen folks.

Granted, its nice to get things you don't ask for (if they are good), but I could also make the analogy that you contracted me to build you a house and I don't do it for a year but instead paint your old shack ruby red . . .

Make sense?

It WOULD but its more like...

"Well, its going to take quite a while to build your house, tell you what, because of the delay we'll throw in a nice shiny shed _as_well_"

I like the new animations, but the male Tryker run does need to be made more masculine. I think that this is a good idea as we play the game for so long, having something new to look at is enjoyable. I would also like to propose the idea of not only new fighting animations (as mentioned before) but also some new spell animations as us mages had different graphics every 50 lvls until we hit 100 and/or got our racial spells, and some new animations for us at 200 and 250 would jazz us up and add to our feeling of uberness, at least until the high level Kincher takes us down in two hits.

Good job again to the dev. and art teams :)

I'm VERY happy to see new stuff like this one... is totally right have differences between races.

but.

In my opinion everyone should talk "as well" about his ingame race only cuz everyone as player have an idea about RP his race and is not asking to have an idea about other races RP... example I'm Zorai, I can talk about Zorai only, can "suggest" about other races but is preferibly take opinions from the players of the interested other races, not me... and vice-versa

so... I can say; I like the new animations for the other races, only thing I don't like is the new Matis sit system... noone can remain sit in that way for long time... :D

about my race: (Zorai)
maybe I wrong something but by the official nevrax trailers of the game come out one year ago and from the old beta Zorais appearences this race should was a "tribal-mystic" wild samurais-thingy race (that's why I choiced it)... wild and tribal yes... MONKEYS NO!!! the new animations are too bad, the new Zorais looks dumb, that animations are for animals not 4 an homin - and - totally doesn't matter with the sit system. That yoga look-a-like system is supposed to be 4 aggraciate-mystic movements users... a gibbai-thingy will neva sit in that way... (and btw I think for the Zorai only race the best sit system is the generic old one).
I'm totally disappointed about that new Zorai style and I VERY hope Nevrax will not introduce that dumb Zorai acting...
I was already disappointed about the restyling of the Zorai race from beta to live game... now also that "offensive" movements is too much in my opinion...
they're trasforming the Zorai race from a thing to another one... sounds like the game need a TROLL race and Nevrax want Zorais as trolls...
I totally disagree and I think every Zorai should protest about that.
I played this game ONLY 4 my loved Zorai race since the begin, I liked the structures, I like all... I think I'm the only idiot in the game that love also the ugly heavy armors and the weapons... please don't waste this race *Totally*.

agree agree, more animations 4 make differences between the races is always good... (when the new animations don't go in a different point of view... coff coff...)

I... rather like them as a whole. The animation-changes I mean. They've got character and I dig that. Not to mention how fluid they are in comparison to the older.

The new Zorai sitting animation is totally lovely. Very fitting and cool looking to boot! Makes me want to walk around blue for a bit. ;)

I can see why some of the new ways of moving could be... questionable though.. but, really, the changes (should they come) will simply integrate themselves in the pallet of Atys.

Sorry Tryker guys. <_<
