There isn't anything better. Ryzom has the best graphics of all the games on the market, barring Eve, but thats a different kind of game.

Like I said in the PM i've just send to you, I'm trying to understand what you guys, long time players, with +12 monts/ 8 hours /day are doing in game and still have fun. Because just conversation in guild chat can be done in any chat room or on ym, wm, etc. So what are you doing IN game besides socialising and having fun???

Level grinding has it's own lures sometimes. It's good to hang brains to rack and killkillkill...ruuuuuun.... dirtnap
Crafting is sometimes fun, just to figure how i make that uberone XXX gear.
Guild/region/around OOC chatting is sometimes fun, just for relax after hard workday with crazy peeps around ye (=socialice)
IC chatting/RP is really fun, take role, develope it make plans and fullfill those without limitations of game mechanics
Play yuboball if ye feel bored
and so on, and so on

Re: This game rock
This game does rock in certain areas the community being one of it's good points. So I'm glad you like the game.
I had a high level character here which, was mainly a solo character as a result, It was analysis game and grind, grind, grind. So when WoW came out I went there. Got a high level character in WoW but I have come back here.
Why did I come back here because atm I consider this a better game for what I want in a game.
If you don't try to intergrate into the community here you will get bored and leave. My new character is female reason being I knew I would not be able to RP the character seriously. I also came back with the attitude to embrace the community and not to try to be some hermit that wants to solo. For me having a character that is a different sex has made it easier to role play, something I used to find very alien. The reason is I don't Identify with the character and so have more fun.
Yes I still can get bored here sometimes when there are not may people online and not in the mood to dig. All I do is log off do something in RL and log back in again.
I feel socialising is something you need to do in this game, you can socialise in a chat room but I would rather be here. Also socialising while grinding takes your mind off of the grinding aspect and it becomes less painful.
So to sum up : Socialise, relax and enjoy

Re: This game rock
I beg to differ. Not so far as for EVE, I play EVE regularly (hence my name) but Ryzom doesn't look better than Lineage 2. May be they both are on the same level, may be L2s graphics are even somewhat more gorgeous. The music in L2 is definitely better.swe999 wrote:There isn't anything better. But that couldn't help L2 with its rude community, extreme level grinding, ridiculous crafting system and almost unusable player market. And not to forget Adena Inc. ...
Ryzom indeed has some unique ideas, very good and atmospheric graphics and a decent skill and crafting system. In fact, I like it.
I am on my second day with my 14 day trial and would consider buying it, if only there were more players around. It is a sure sign of a dying MMOG when the n00b areas are empty of players, especially when there is a free trial available. Sorry to say that.
Made this sad experience with AC2 and Horizons as well, both nice games though not so gorgeous looking (and Lineage 2 showed the same symptom of empty noob areas at the end of last year as I left this game).
Maybe WoW is cannibalizing the entire market atm.
Re: This game rock
New players are encouraged to go to the mainland ASAP - especially if all they have is 14 days to try the game out. The real game is on the mainland. Pack yo bags, hunnie, and geetcher bu.. err... rearend ovah heah.

Thanks for the hint, but I already was on mainland as I wrote my first posting. Anyway, I will level somewhat and then venture to another city, exploring the world a bit moredanadita wrote:New players are encouraged to go to the mainland ASAP - especially if all they have is 14 days to try the game out. If you want to keep it fun, refuse all offers of help to travel - at least from high level peeps.. trekking with death at every step can b loads of funbustard wrote:Thanks for the hint, but I already was on mainland as I wrote my first posting.
