Round up a posey and go hunt down those god-damn no-good Pkers down in Canyon pass.
Prehaps loose fame so if you PK (without invite to dual) the guards wont let you anywhere near cities, although you could probably sneak into some towns.
I think the community is mature enough, but for how long?
Self-policing has been tried before and generally doesn't work because anti-pkers...
1 - Provide the Pkers with what they want, fights and someone to wind up.
2 - Are less effective than Pkers by nature of being public spirited and putting time into things other than slaughter and power levelling.

I remember my first bounty beaches encounter. We where mostly low or medium leveled players. We collected DP a lot but tried and tried. One or two players did not stop to loot the Zerx we killed with much effort. It was 2:30 in the morning, so i was a little crazy and told the looters that we will find a tree to hang them up next time they loot
Maybe we could have this feature ?
I d like to level the rope crafting tree

SORRY, I wrote my message in the wrong newsgroup! So I will translate it....
(ups, sorry again!!! (and for my bad english, too).
I really would be interested in the actual stand of development. I'm disappointed about the actual "I dont want to say more"-philosophy of Nevrax. There has to be more.
For instance, these 2 writings dont fit together.....
21. Juli 2005, Davi Cohan Corval:
"We are still in development on these things, so I wont say too much before I have a playable version on my screen."
and
25. April 2005, Xavier Antoviaque:
"We are also increasing our focus on preparing chapter III : we are '''preparing the introduction of an early version of the outposts on the Advanced Test Server'''; the first version will only provide the features that we want to test and tune first (about 30% here) : subsequent features will be added as testing progresses. If you want to join the ATS testers, have a look at the ATS registration form."
3 Months ago Nevrax suggested strongly (for me at least), that we could see some of the things in development ... that we, the players, and nevrax will test the outposts, even if they are an "early version". But now the only thing I hear ... after 3 months ... "i dont want to say more until I have a playable version"?
I think nevrax should talk more openly about the stand of their development. I feel sad about the development in the last half year :/

The only real way of Stopping getting attacked is by putting up a bloody good fight and force them into a stalemate.
Like...
Guild A kept getting jumped by Guild B
Guild B put word out got some allies came back with Guilds C D and F and kicked Guild A's butt.
Happens a few more times then all is quiet and everyone lvls in peace.
Guilds A and B start to get along and kill Guild X
Will Guild X get some allies and use deplomercy? (like Dave seems to be talking about in some of his letters) or will they post forum try and flame them and make everyone think PvP sucks and only ruled by the large Guilds?
To me it seems as if they want to creat goverments and alliences Outposts will do this if people dont mind sharing. No one guild can really stand alone for long when others are willing to unite.
(sorry bout the spelling)

Feel free to discuss!
For your enjoyment:
-Raku
-------------------------------------------------
Raku says: Its too much! Youll never be able to pull this off!
DCC says: Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my companys size?
*Raku shakes his head, slowly*
DCC says: And well you should not. For the Code is my ally.
DCC says: And a powerful ally it is. Devs create it, make it grow.
DCC says: Its energy surrounds us, binds us. Digital beings we are
DCC says: You must feel the Code around you
*DCC points*
DCC says: Here, between you
me
the rock, the tree
everywhere.
*Raku admits DCC has her confused*
Raku says: If the Code is so powerful, youd think it would get these emotes right!!
*A ghostly figure emerges from the shadows*
Xavier says: Outposts are the priority now. And PvP.
Raku says: But the people want a story, they want raids, they want content!
*Xavier waves his right hand, cutting a circle in the air*
Xavier says: These are the patches you are looking for
Raku says: These are the patches I am
HEY!! Stop that!
*Raku uses a Karavan pact to transport to Fairhaven*
Xavier says: There goes our last hope.
DCC says: No. There is another
*fade to screen: Outside Thesos, a young Tryker girl chasing a terrified Raging Ocyx*
Soma says: Pretty!!!

LOL @ Raku *mumble* clown *mumble*
Anyways, In my opinion, the PvP that Nevrax appears to be working on is definitely not pointless or a worthless waste of time. The fact that the core of the PvP is around factions and outposts give the PvP a goal. It's not just PKing for the sake of PKing. (Since that isn't a problem at all right now, I don't expect it to become one in the future)
Now, not to be a fanboi or anything, but I think everyone is being a little skeptical of this PvP, perhaps because it *might* attract a bad crowd or it *might* make players really hate eachother. I think what it will do is add a whole bunch of good RP to the game.
For example, I could be a super Karavan extremist and attack any Zorai or Fyros on sight in game(LOL not that i could actually hurt you), but if I knew you in reality, I would have no problem with you whatsoever. This attitude will imitate the effect of real world politics and desire for power without degrading the content of the game.
In conclusion, I'll shut up now.
(btw, I didn't really appreciate the comment about how PvP might attract children, and that children can't talk. For those who don't know, I'm a freshman in high school, and I both know how to speak and how to RP and how to have fun without killing people and typing "PWNED!". Plus, all the immature children are stuck playing WoW.)

They have actually kept us informed, although we might not like what they said. Basically, they noticed that outpost sucked in internal tests and Nevrax is now improving pvp and creating real benefits for owning an outpost. They can't afford to release outposts that suck totatally.

I remember my joy last July when I found SoR. Homins *banding together* to repel the forces that would damage their world, a world that had it's own ideas of right and wrong. A story that would last at least 8 years. A game this 50 year old woman could believe wouldn't make her feel like she should be knitting in a rockingchair.
I appreciate that things will go just as you (DCC) want them to go, and that this is exactly how it should be. It is your dream. I truly appreciate the time I was able to share it, and I thank you for the privilege.
IRL I had to learn to practice controlled dreaming. Sometimes my dreams run away and get to the point where it's not good to dream them through. I have to be a presence in them that will wake me in time...
This is not an 'I'm outtahere' letter, but it is a reflection on the fact that September is near. Last year it was so easy to jump in with both feet. A year seemed too short, I wanted a lifetime option. Now I am wondering just what resubscription term I think I can endure before I would be forced to leave in bitter disappointment. I practice controlled waking too...
Mind you, I am not saying I think anything you are planning is wrong, it just doesn't sound right for me. I will always treasure SoR as the first MMORPG that I even considered staying in and I plan to enjoy every minute I spend here.
