Oh I agree with you on that. namine but until you get use to game and if you feel alone, maybe it is good to start elsewhere and then make a Zoari later.

I started Matis, went to Tryker and now I have a Zoari who I am getting use to now in fact am spending much time there cause it is a beautiful land
Also have Fyros, Depends on my mood who I go to. ACtually I have two Tryker. um need to update my list.

Just want him to really try them all.

Disregarding the good and evil context, I'd just like to note that picking your civlization and picking a religious alignment can be totally separate.

There's nothing wrong with being a Karavan loving Zorai or Kami cultist Matis. ;)

I would suggest to choose your race based on the lore. First see if you believe in the evil Karavan or the good Kami :-) , then study a little bit more the history and culture of the differents races and make your choice !
You'll have soon access to other lands, with the help of other homins, just ask for an expedition in region chat.
I would like to add that the low population of Zorai make them very close each others and always ready to help other homins.

If you want Nevrax to help increase the zorai population then hold your breath till your blue......wait nevermind your already blue..... :p

True, can make for very chalenging gameplay.

Do note for new players tho, Matis and Tryker start off with a positive karavan fame and negative Kami, the Fyros and Zorai start off with a positive Kami fame and negative Karavan fame.

So its advisable to start off in the race/faction combination thats best for you without going for the initial fame penalties.

Later on that penalties can e just the challenge you look for if thats your sort of thing :)

There's nothing Nevrax can do to increase the Zorai population. What are they gonna do, make it the only race and force people to make zorai? Its just the last popular, although I like them alot.

On Topic: Make a Matis. Have a run around. Matis has the most population and there's always people around. Give it a go and then make your decision.

not many people use the region chat. i'll give you the low-down on the several channels
tell/team/guild - global
around - 25 m
shout - 50 m
region - in the full region
a region is visible on the map, you can check this by looking for the white dotted lines
now the next step: /who - this shows all the players in the region you are in
hope this helps you find people easier ;)

p.s.: try "/who gm" too ;)

Actually lately Zorai lands have seem to be overpopulated... at least with some lakeland midgeds *lol*

Seriously speaking i've never though that zorai lands are underpopulated. Theres pretty much zorai characters around, but because new player flow is slowish most of them roam now a lot in other lands or prime roots.

When i read these posts i wonder why peeps think there's not a lot of zorais around?
It's pretty much same imho if i go to any land starter region. Lands of Atys are wide and open. Every land have more than 1 region (ie. zorais got 6 if i remeber right), so tracking all players is bit hard :)

Many Homins here have made sum good points allready behalf of SoR, but to answer for some aspects of initial post i give my 2cnts...

*what ye want mmorpg to be?
If ye want solo, there's plenty of console&pc games to fill that need. If ye want see unique world with pretty nice player community and lot of options to choose for skills, it's SoR. If ye want powerlevel, and do raids after you are in max lvl rest of yer game time, mayby WoW or sum similar game is for ye. Or sumthing else i've never even tried or heard may be yer "thing"

*Do ye really know all after few days glance to game?
i've played mmorpgs from end of last millenia and now SoR 8 months or so. Theres still a lot of things in game i dun know, i've not seen or never tried.

If you dun have patience to look more around, take deep glance to game mechanics, have some fun with other playes and time to learn, feel and enjoy many things i feel sorry for you. All peeps of world are not overly patient i know.

*Missions, events& other stuff, not grinding
err, there's a lot to improve all these imho, but what stops you start and make anything you like?
Go other lands, sneak around for adrenaline rush, plan your own event, go pr and start PvP with some Avatar of destruction titled player, go poke some really BIIG mob to see how it reacts or do anything, anything ye like. After ye done all this ye can think couple of more nice hobbies for SoR fun, start all over or just go grind those earrings for some crafting improvment.

Yers,

Astovidatu
