-- An all-together new dynasty concept. Ryzom introduces the concepts of natural ageing, children and ancestral skills.

-- As a character progresses in Ryzom they will grow old. Their useful lifetime can be extended artificially, but the older they get the harder that becomes and the more effort it requires.

-- Characters in Ryzom can engender offspring. These ?children? inherit the name and fame of their parent and their parent's belongings but not necessarily their skills.
I had a question about this. How can one create an aging rate that will keep everyone happy? Some people seem disappointed that in less than a year their characters haven't aged already, had grandchildren, been carted off to assisted living, ... etc. ( or perhaps they only wish that the lvl 250 powergamers above them had grown enfeebled?) Jeez, it's only been a year. I, for one, have had enough of aging, and want my character to grow younger! :D But seriously, how well would Atys work if players aged at different rates? Could one choose the rate? If they age at the same rate, casual players could be disadvantaged - they come back after a week to find their character has gotten arthritis? Hmmm.

The way I saw it described early on was that if you decided to have children with another player, your character would start aging starting then. At some point, your character would die and you'd both have a new character that were the children.

So if you didn't elect to have offspring, you wouldn't age.

This is how it was discribed in the Beta Dev chats. I so want this feature!

New emote: /do it

Only works if you're both in an apartment and since you can't do that yet... no kids yet. Oh, and make sure you target another person before doing the emote.

:D
