No, that was not the reason he cited, nor was that an inappropriate topic for the Guild forum, as I see it. It is guild-related when a member of one guild suggests that many other guilds' methods of recruitment are 'desperate', and a member of one of the guilds thus characterized takes exception. N'est pas?

Ah well.. if you insist...
Schizm sent me a note offering to return the equipment she requisitioned during her brief stay in ON. So, that's the honorable thing, and I'm giving credit where credit's due.

I'm sure Schizm was going to do that all along. As a result, the honourable and obvious thing to do was not to post in the first place,
before you had obviously even spoken to Schizm. Couldn't you have just waited until he came online again?
A human's ability to cast doubt and judge people without any communication at all amazes me sometimes. Do we all work for soulless corporations, hating every other department around us by default? And if so, why the hell do we choose to continue that in a game world? And why, more than anything, do we do it because of items and possessions that are effectively worthless?

Exactly, my point all along...

To set the facts straight: Schizm left ON, without waiting to talk with anyone about her departure, notifying us by an in-game email. I replied to that email, and in that reply I pointed out that the honorable thing to do would be to return guild-issued equipment. I did not receive any response until yesterday. In the interim, Schizm posted again to this thread, thus indicating that she'd been around to receive my mail. So, there had been communication, she had been given time to respond, and only then did I post to this thread.
I have given her credit for belatedly being willing to return those items.
Do I think I have unfairly tarnished her reputation here? No, I do not. I believe a person should be judged on their actions, and I've reported her actions, both good and bad. As for the items themselves, it was the principle that mattered to me, so once she offered to return them I let her know she could keep them.
And, yeah, I really hope this threads grinds to a halt soon too.

It seems I am missing all the fun on Atys.
I haven't been online much, so missed this whole fiasco entirely.
But it seems to me that it is PERFECTLY alright if someone wants to "try out" different guilds if they want to before deciding if they want to stay with the guild or not. Nothing wrong with that.
What Schizm should have done though, to prevent all this bad blood, was to tell everybody straight that's exactly what he's doing, guild hopping to try out. I am sure all the guilds would have been ok with that. And this wouldn't have happened. When communication breaks down, misunderstanding ensues, and that path leads to the dark side.
I can see things can turn really ugly here with the wrong people and attitude involve, so y'all should maybe step back a bit (and curse DT in silent, I think that helps

)

Well, all of that was quite exciting to read. Just wanted to point that out. And if you are still looking for a guild Schizm, Out of Cavern can try you out. Just click on the link on my sig for more info. (See back on topic)
