umm going off topic abit but id like to modify the source ending when mats run out to just being able to take (ending the source) or continue to extract (to increase quality and then take)

Dig ends under one of the following conditions:

Timer runs out
Source life hits Zero
Content hit Zero and you Take
Zoraï : Master Desert/Forest/Jungle/Lakeland/PR Forager , Master Light Melee Weapon Smith , Jeweler Master , 201+ in All 39 Craft Branchs , All Craft Trainer and Outpost plans -gone walkabout (solo) awaiting new content

Quality level continues to rise even when source content reaches zero. (reduces the chances of more XP when digging QL over level)
A better reason:
when ur digging excellent and supreme in pr and there are only 3 mats left (from the 145/73) u can raise the q to your max, otherwise these mostly empty spots would b pulled at a very low q

They should also fix the bug where you lose your mats if you start diggin another node, while they're at it, if it's at all possible.

They can make it so that you can "Take Items" anytime you like, which will kill the source, and give you the allot xp for the amount of mats that you take, instead of having the button be disabled until the source time runouts.

I know plenty of diggers who have lost mats from not taking, or dying before they can take. Really frustrating :D

While it is a wee bit off-topic, this *would* be nice, and it would render the issue of source content less frustrating to deal with. Activate the "take all" button after I've emptied the source - or after I've hit maximum quality - and the problem of low source content becomes moot.

Well I vote make it voluntary. You don't have to wait till any of the above happens, just "Take All" anytime you like, and the source dies.

But there might be a problem with the coding end if they don't have this setup in the first place, I guess it's one way to implement the xp system. I am sure if they concentrate hard enough, they can find another way to do it to allow you to take anytime you want.

When the source content reaches zero the dig should end.

This would mean:

Source life hits Zero
Content hit Zero

I am aware of a reason for not doing this:

Quality level continues to rise even when source content reaches zero. (reduces the chances of more XP when digging QL over level)

However to compensate for this:

Would allow a harvester to pull more sources than normal (more digs there for more XP)

Why not just activate the darn take all button at all times. So I can end the dig whenever I like.

I'm forage 170 and really only have to worry about source content when I use extra source time or have a CPer.

But even those few times I find it very very aggravating.

I don't like the idea of making it a lvl250 skill in any form. Because like it's been said, it's information they already give us, it's just way too hard to get to. Why wait 250 levels to see it better?

My favorite options are
1. Make the content bar show as a percentage of max (30) as soon as its popped
2. Let me "Take All" any time I want to kill the source.

I'd love to have both :D

/agree

Seems like this would make everyone happy, and introduce new people to the concept of lower Qty in soureces much sooner.

This is the best solution.
