raynes wrote:Ok this will probably get deleted becuase it will tell what the rite is but here goes. You go to the npc and they ask you to kill 15 bawaabs and bring them the parts. I don't have a problem with the rite being this. The problem that I have is that it took 5 months to get use something like this. Simply because it's NO different than a common task. I know they didn't have to write the encylopedia entry because they have said many times they were all done. That means the only part that needed to be tested was the new stanza you got as a reward and that in no way shape or form should take 5 months.
You are not completely right about this, but one thing is true for sure. It's
pathetic that it takes 5 months to bring 12 working rite missions ingame. Made them all but zorai armor/shield crafting one (need at least 325 craft sp just for single dots). They have make some single dots and not fully working enc. entries available for us, just to make us feel that something is coming. I don't have problem with this "infusion" feeding, as long it does'nt take more then 2 months to make them working. But man, 5 months for 4 rites...
Other problem is that all missions are lvl50-lvl100 areas related. All for single player. There are no higher missions that require a team of ppl.
Crafting missions makes me grind a lot. Made like a 30 levels lake forage, spend maybe 8 mill. for diff. mats of different crafts just to make few rite missions. For what? Generic 1h axe? Great. Always wanted that one. Generic rifle? Thanks, fix ranged first.

Not all the rewards are good, but there are at least 2 that's quite worth your while. The Zorai search for mission mats rite (pain in the butt unless you have help), and the new Fyros crafting rites. I won't tell you what the rewards are, but they are REALLY nice for harvesting and crafting. The focus and sap boost rewards are also nice. Also, the generic plans are great for getting craft xp, because you can use any civ mats to craft them.
My guess is that out of the 5 months, a big chunk was taken away from the whole financial trouble, reorganisation, and restructuring deal. Testers added and taken away, devs let go and maybe new hires, etc. Another chunk was probably taken away (at least from DCC) from E3 preperation and the Ryzom-Ring designing.
We all wish that Nevrax can get to a point where it can move fast and efficiently and patch in new stuff at a nice pace with very few bugs, but they're just not quite there yet, and might never will (could be the nature of the complexity of the actual engine, we don't know).
But as have said before, if you can't enjoy what's in the game now, you will probably never be happy with the game, regardless of anything. A lot of us are already enjoying the game. A lot of it come down to attitude and the people you play with.

Matis harvesting mission titled "Food" gives same harvesting stanza as zorai one, but 40% not 20% and use same credit. However, my HP bar drops too fast while using it. Generic crafting plans are nice (can use all kinds of mats, generic bowrifle can use rifle and bowrifle ammo), but uses less mats then medium plan (not sure about generic axe, did'nt craft it yet), so not good for "getting craft xp". You are right about new fyros crafting rite. It's great, but only problem is that it's permanent. I'll like it as stanza. Same for extra second harvesting time from tryker harvesting rite. It needs to be selectable not permanent.

I don't have problem with the game, my next 6 months start tomorrow and i see myself here for at least one year. Even with this state of progres. However. i don't like lies and broken promises. Encyclopedia was part of chapter 2. Still only 12 rites. Outposts are something that was suposed to work 4-6 months after realise. I found myself not reading "glimpses of production" or "Q&A" anymore. Less i expect, more to be happy about when release notes comes online.

Maybe you should have done it in team?
Same goes for foraging missions.

I'm unhappy because there NO reason why a rite like this should take 5 or 6 months to make live. Without telling exactly what you do, I will simply say it's the same thing you would do for an ordinary task, just a greater number.
Nevrex, Dev, Jessica all of you. Get your act together. If you have rites like these you should be putting them in the game at least once a week. Saying you can't put new rites in the game becuase they are complex or add new behavior to the game is completely understandable. But if you have rites where you simply have to visit places, kill things, or harvest items then they should be in the game.
This game news new content badly. Having to go 6 months without anything only to have new content be simple stuff that could of been put in months ago is frustrating and annoying.
*Claps* saved me saying it

i compleatly agree i have had the fyros and kami in my encyclopedia since day 1 ready to do the rite mission 6 months later its still unable to be finished and when you check the fansites who have peple on ATS youll also see that its just a useless knowledge rite with no real reward.... the new tryker one it seems gave more markers on the map which is a joke why would you want more markers? so you can lose more next time they decide to all dissapear?

All bowrifles can use rifle and bowrifle ammo
The best thing in generic plans is that you can use any ecology mats. So, you can use combine best mob mats to craft a ultimate weapon easier than when restricted to one ecology and pr mats.
I hope that higher lvl rites will have upgraded looks for generic weapons. The basic plans are rather ugly.

Actualy did part of "food" rite in a team and tells with some ppl doing same. But there is no point of making team to kill 15 bewaabs in lvl 100 area in 8h AM.
