Yes. For example, someone might have problems with "massive" GH storage avalable for 1 person guilds out there. :)

I usually craft and dump at dig spot when working in middle of nowhere.

Sometimes, I dig off dp and find that I have bag full of mats but still lacking some ingredients to actually craft anything. And all storage capacity already used...

At least this is dont clutters up shops (read as 'less annoying for other players', *IMO*).

At the end of the day I have to agree that it's an exploit.

They changed the packers so that you couldn't access their contents from any stable. Using the merchants to store your items is a way around that. You can put your items up for sale at one place, go to somehwere else and retrieve it.

Therefore it's an exploit IMHO.

Actually, if you just use mats by crafting, you can still access them from any stable.

Ask yourself this:

Are items sold to hawkers supposed to turn up at merchants?
Can players chose any markup they want on sale?
Are players allowed to retrieve items sold to players at merchants?

To which the answer is yes, as this is how the game mechanics are.

@magick1
an exploit is called exploit because it exploits existing game mechanics against the intention of the developers...
in diablo 2 you could dupe items quite easily, according to your logic that would not be an exploit รดรด

Indeed, but it isn't an official (as in GM/devs say it is) exploit, just a player percieved exploit so far.

I still think that the best action, would be to send ingame tickets and ask something be done to stop it.
It is the only way to raise the issue to the devs, if enough players complain.

The best would be for another official announcement on this issue, since these threads crop up from time to time.

And to blunt, these are the threads that devs (or through the GMs) should put up an answer to, quickly.
It is an issue which belongs in a FAQ.

I sent in a ticket already (no need to pester the CSR too much now :p ).
It is passed on to the devs by a GM, so now we just have to wait a bit. :)

This subject has been discussed extensively in the past, in several forums. Although I agree there is something wrong with using the NPC as storage, I wonder if we'll get a definite answer on that, because there is one question that still remains open: what price is 'too high'? There are some mats that are clearly not intended for sale, but.. what about things like 10k per mat? where is the limit? 10k? 15k? if we say Xk per mat, won't we get players putting them at X-1? What about diggers in lagons of Loria, with no TP?.

I've asked around a bit, and a few players suggest that 'once you sell it, you sell it, if you want it back, you pay the price you put'. I think it's a good choice.

mark it up 100%, pay 50% as interest to pull it off the vendor.

mark it up 5000%....pay 2500% interest to pull it off the vendor.

merchant wants his money for the services he provided you to display your item on sale! and he is GOING to get his cut. :0P
I agree with GFunk's solution as well, I would just change the interest a litttle.
