Why do you craft? I once lost bout 1 packer full of mats on crafting with busted tool and a heavy dose of sleepiness... At that time i wouldnt have minded if they dissapeared i guarantee.

I craft to clear DP

I have crafted with a broken tool (more times than I care to mention)

I craft for XP
Digging is different to crafting in so many ways ...
Digging cost time and gains mats, side effect XP.
Crafting consumes time and mats and creates an item with a NPC resale value less than the value of the mats used, side effect XP.
If I need to make an armour or dig mats ... thats what I do, I don't worry about the XP.
For example, I will dig in the Fount if I am making an armour ql150 or less, even though I will only get 200xp for the dig and 100xp for the item crafted.
Thats just the way I play the game.
Recently I have been leveling for the last 3 HQL light bits .... again digging in the fount for 200xp a pull (with carer), purely because its fast for me to obtain the mats I need.
I am a cross between a power leveler and a social player.
In 2+ weeks I gained about 2 levels total across all skills. Then in one weekend I gained the 30+ elemental lvls and 10+ melee levels and 4 digging levels and 10+ crafting levels.
I just play the game based on how I feel at the time. Keeps the whole thing alive for me.
Best hunt recently was when I went out with Seren and 2 members of EoA and we killed everything we came across .... total XP earn for 1hr hunt was zero.
But I have a pair of pants made out of Wylin and some very nice supreme mob mats

didnt Xavier mentioned that they will probably change it so that the pick or crafting tools lit up bright red once completely broken down?
I think that would help lots, and is all that is needed.
