The guy-girl and girl-girl results are a lot different to what I was anticipating.

Verrry interesting.

I wonder whether the US waking up and coming online this evening will dramatically alter things or continue in the same vein.

Playing a female character being a guy in real life, but since this is not a paper rpg but an online rpg, i don't pretend to act like a girl, so usually i clarify beofre being hitted my real gender ;)

I like more feminine heroes than male, that's one of the main reasons for it, for the looks, i like to "barbie" my character.

In paper rpg i usually play 80% the times female characters, evil and beautiful at the same time eheh >D

A guy who plays a guy, I lack imagination :D

Although I am surprised how many 'girls play girls' there are. I assumed all women are blokes unless proved other wise, but now its even more muddled!

I used to pose as a guy when I played everquest to avoid getting hit on or attract any interest. I was also pretty paranoid then thanks to a bad experience I had online. Now I just tell them I don't like guys, which is the truth anyway :P Besides, it's too much fun to show them up when they think they're hot s*** > :)

I'm a female playing a female. To some this is obvious, but some have thought that I was a guy. I don't know if its because, like me, they assume all females are males, or if its the way I play.

Either way the results are interesting. There are more female/female than I thought there would be.

Never underestimate the power of playing a female character, whether you are a girl or a guy in RL. The sympathy and protective aspects that males display to female characters on line has been shown previously to be much higher than if the character was male instead. And when you think about it, why wouldn't they be? Mainly adolescent males, save the princess and all that? I think people are starting to get wise to it and that's getting the actual girl/girl players a lot more respect online, whether the individuals are deserving or not.

On a personal note, Seren is a much higher level in just about everything than I am. Hardcore girls online are just the same as hardcore guys! HARDCORE! :D

I have noted that the female avatars played by males usually have *huuuuuuuugggggggggeeeeeeee*... tracts of land... ;)

As for moi:
  • Female jewelcrafter, piker chick, healer, & Kami follower on Atys
  • Male sculptor, ex-paratroop, ex-computer scientist, & pagan on Earth

As an artist, I enjoy sculpting the female form, whether hewn from stone or creating a virtual avatar. The foreground view on screen is more pleasant this way, and since I prefer to pursue my Atys goals through subtle rather than aggressive means, I find that fits well with a female character. Bottom line, I play MMORPG's to be something divergent from my Earth incarnation, although (to paraphrase Led Zeppelin) the soul remains the same.

I'm a fem playing a fem but depending on the alt, I'm more of a biker chick (Fyros), straight out Beyouch (Matis) or spiritual loner (Zorai). Besides, if I played a male he would be teased all the time about being the tank who was always behind the healers. Soma does not enjoy her turn at being the meat shield!
