Re: Calling all Adventurers!
Loved the story telling part of it, was pretty well written.
Didn't like the attack part of it much - just being honest. Maybe it's because our group had a few l/ds so we got to the field a few mins late. Don't know if there was some acting or anything from both sides of the conflict. The armies marching down from the port looked great.
Our force was just overwhelming though and the fight didn't last long at all. Was there a boss or multiple ones? It'd be great if the storyline had us having to split apart or with different objectives. I've heard this was done for the Kitin invasions in January - would like to take part in something like that. If you've ever played Dynasty Warriors on the PS2 you know what I'm talking about ;D
Still, a good event definately and kudos to the event team. Hope to see more of these and more frequently.

Re: Calling all Adventurers!
The call went out from Fairhaven and it was answered in tens and hundreds. On a dusky evening as the sun set into red tinged lakes of tryker, Homins of all races thronged to Lorias Rise in order to help the Guild of Try and the Tryker elders with a very special task.
Once the hundreds of Homins of all races and sizes had found a seat, three Trykers came forward to explain the problem that needed to be solved. First to speak was Shaly Nara who explained that she was the leader of the once hidden Guild of Try, and outlined the guilds role as the protectors of Stil Wyler, information gatherers and explorers. She introduced her companions as the Lady Ailan Mackean, a descendant of the great Lady Loria, and the Tryker Chronicler Derry ODarren.
Then Ailan spoke and her simple tale of the childhood discovery of the Lady Loria held the massed audience spellbound as she revealed Lorias discovery of the Prime Roots and her quest to find some Seed of Life in Matis to save her cousin. She told of Lorias capture and her brave dash to freedom clutching the precious seed box which had remained in the family ever since those days.
Finally, Derry explained some Tryker history as contained in the chronicles, explaining how the Company of Loria led the Trykers back to the lakes of their home, freeing them from the Matis slavery, and developing the tactics of guerrilla warfare that has stood them in such good stead.
Shaly then revealed that the role of the gathered Homins was to recover the Box of Loria which had been recently stolen by none other than the evil twin servants of Desann, who were gathering an army of cutthroat tribes at the Loria Gate border Outpost.
One and all the Homins rose to their feet, swearing to retrieve the box if it cost them their lives, and slowly the armies formed for the long march to the outpost. With dignity and discipline the Homin forces moved across the watery landscape through the gathering night, sometimes running, sometimes swimming when necessary to reach their destination.
As they arrived breathless at the ruined outpost they were greeted by the despicable Twins themselves, who taunted the Homin army, and flaunted their superior numbers and force.
Maddened and goaded by their foul words the Homins attacked in fury and the fighting waged fiercely all across the camp, as the tide of battle turned this way and that. Almost imperceptibly at first however, the Homin troops, led valiantly by Rikka, Sxarlat and Zee began to push back the undisciplined tribes, until at last their three great chief lay dead and the only task left was to mop up the stragglers.
At this point all eyes were drawn to the unnatural arrival of Desann who cursed the combined army and promised to wreck a terrible vengeance on them and all the Homin lands, before vanishing in her usual mysterious manner. A collective shudder passed over the assembly, but the gloom was lightened by the sudden discovery of the ancient box on a dead tribesman.
As Shaly looked into the precious box she discovered something that had been long-lost an ancient piece of mektoub parchment covered with faded, semi legible writing and possibly giving the last words of Lady Loria herself! Astounded by the discovery and what this might portend, she left hurriedly to bring the news to Stil Wyler, leaving the hundreds-strong Homin armies to celebrate their victory in jubilation and song.
