Not what I meant, My life (or lack of it :) ) would be devoted to griefing you, but as we are all treehugginkamilovers, I guess it will never happen :D

Have a good time on Arispotle, I hope you guys enjoy the transfer :)

I was not making a rude statement, I was stating my position. Getting ugly is not my point at all, and I did not think you are ugly, usually. Boy, relax would ya?

So my questioning your beliefs is ignorant? Well, whatever. I give up. I stated my position, I am not egging you on, and I will not look to do anything to provoke you either in-game or out.

I was actually making a broad statment as both myself and my guild have dealt with some belligerent people. And that is NOT fun either in-game or out. Stop taking everyhting people say as an attack, please. I personally thought you did a great job in clearing up your position in a later post. And except for you not allowing me to interpret anyhting on my own, I 'think' we basically stand in a similar postion.

Ok, I should clarify here maybe. I don't really mean I dislike Raynes as Raynes. They are after all just characters we have developed. He has had some very valuable points that he has made. I really feel he has great knowledge of the lore and the game. I admire him for that. He tries to get people to think, why am I Kami or why am I Karavan. He wants people to think why they have chosen that way. I think, my opinion. Maybe I am wrong. Heck I chose Karavan cause my friends did. So shoot me.

I dislike maybe his style of playing does that sound any better. That is his idea of roleplaying and more power to him if that is how he wants to play. He is playing the game the way he feels it should be played, but I can still get miffed when my character is killed. Since I am such a whimpy mage that anything over 5 ragus/gingo's lay me flat.

I would even go rez Raynes if I saw him down. but that is how I play so that is my choice.

What is your opinion on non-aligned characters, Raynes? I've popped onto the American boards on a regular basis and it seemed you were as anti-them as you were anti-Karavan? If you intend the same attitude towards people who have chosen to stay neutral as those who have chosen to support the Karavan, Sanz may want a quiet word with you! ;)

I'm bing into my rp and I know quite a few others who are too. If you randomly attack people in the roots without warning, I would say you'll tick people off. Not just characters, people. If you suss out the territory beforehand, inform guilds OOC of your IC situation and the fact that you may begin preying on open Karavan supporters in the roots, I'll support your decision 100%. Just because my character is a passive explorer and a firm believer in the power of homins rather than either of the two "deitys" involved doesn't mean that I don't think roleplaying shouldn't involve violence. But I think letting people know exactly how things stand with your character is very important, especially in game as not everyone reads our ramblings here.

I have no problem with neutral players so long as they are neutral. Now if someone belongs to a guild that has a high Karavan fame and low Kami fame, they are not neutral. How will I know a guilds fame level? They have to tell me. The same with players wearing the title of "Karavan Champion". If you are wearing that title you are considered a follower of the Karavan.

It's really petty easy. If you are doing lots of tasks for the Karavan or tribes that support the Karavan, then I am going to view you as helping the Karavan, hence an enemy of mine. It doesn't matter if you actually beleive in what they teach. It matters that you are helping the enemy.

As for my attacking people in the roots. I have done that two times (I'm including the nexus in that). Each time I have asked if they supported the Karavan or Kami first. Then attacked when they said Karavan. I don't just run up to people randomally and kill them. I don't hunt down certain players to bother them (although I certainly have wanted to!). My reputation makes me out to be much worse than I really am.

The jist I got of Raynes feelings towards non aligned or neutrals was that he tends to feel like many feel about political moderates. SOME, not all feel that anyone that takes a middle of the road possision is sitting on a fense. Some see moderate/neutral stances as a lack of decision. I can understand all sides of most discussions.

My feelings on the Kami/Karavan thing is that the lore and in game story has not developed enough for me to make an informed decision, but...I am leaning towards Kami.

I got the feeling that Raynes was seeing a BORED player base (I saw it too) and he was trying SOMETHING to get the players awake, mad, happy or indifferent...they were NOT bored after he came through.

I have known him personally and find he is pretty much a good person, but he does have STRONG feelings. I say give him a chance.

Raynes!

Mai is very glad to see her favorite scum-sucking kami lover back! =D

Mai has no doubt that raynes has no interest in offending players, or trying to use RPing for any other motive. Despite the opposing sides of our characters, I respect Raynes dedication as a roleplayer. No one has taken more bad-mouthing than you, and still kept at it. That takes guts, not gaul.

Mai for one doesn't mind the threat of attack in PR, even on harvesters. Mai also doesn't plan to go to PR, b/c it's not allowed by Karavan law. Raynes is welcome to come look in nexus for Mai though, mai mace will be waiting :P

Not to be a butt, but if you really don't want to deal with RPing stuff, ignore it and keep out of PvP areas. I know this limits some stuff, and it may sound like mai is oppressing the non-RPers, but I figure it's easier to have people avoid the things they don't want to participate in, than to assign uniforms to RPers, make them check w/ everyone around first, or any of the other perposals.

The key is communication. There are tones of different ways to play Ryzom, and i think excluding Role-Players is a major mistake.

I may disagree on your methodology at times, but I also respect it. I think it unforunatly turns people off to RPing at times, but I think that's something that might happen anywho. I will continue to work to bring Role-Playing to Ryzom in mai way, and I hope you do too :)

Raynes, Mai support you 100% OOC :P

Very fun how the US server peeps have a name to cause a bad atmosphere, and that even while I am trying to keep an open mind, some seem to be a bit extreme indeed. Really, we had some weird threads here too with Juydas being either in or out of character, but this is silly.
A post is made about a servermerge three days ago and now the US players decided to move to the EE boards to flame each other. You are invited by our parents in our house and now you are fighting among each other over our toys?

A few other things I was thinking about on the Karavan, Kami extremism:
- Will you buy stuff from a Karavan crafter?
- Will you buy stuff from a known Karavan crafter through the mercs?
- Will you use the karavan teleporters?

And a question at the Samsara: What is a first estimate on the price?

Grtz
