Well I can tell you exactly how long the first contest stayed open. As I entered the answer the contest ended imediately and I was listed at the end of the winners list that was displayed at the end of the contest. This suggests that the first contest ended when the last winner (me) entered a correct answer.

I think, however, that they have changed the contest software. For example, they do not list the winners immediately anymore. Which is a big pity. So what they do now is anyone's guess. The length of the 'Rhiana' contest seems to indicate they have a manual control system, perhaps to validate users and their typos and prevent the clever players from winning 6 graphics cards

True, but Be'Cauny Kedgy is a member of the Cholorogoos, so do missions for him and you will lose Fyros, Matis, Tryker and Zorai fame. I wouldn't call him a very helpful homin
