BINGO, you win the prize, wish I knew what that was. For ME the "prize" is finding a safe route to explore things, this is the first game I have not been able to enjoy exploring. I still have lag issues on a high end DSL (CLOSE to the node, within a block, this connection is better than my cable to this spot was), and a system WELL over minimum.
My issue with travel is simple, what I see is not what is truly there, but in order to travel...it HAS to be accurate. Since travel is JUST like 3d Frogger, one wrong move and SPLAT. I don't fear DP, I fear LOAD TIMES two minutes of load screen is painful when you run DIE run DIE run DIE. And not due to being careless, but due to lag that has a mob where you don't see them, and no mob where you DO see them. Or mobs that can move more than 150m in less than one second, which means they were not where I saw them at all, but almost on top of me.
I have successfully gotten from Pyr to Dyron (big WOOP, any numb skull could do that one), from Pyr to Thesos (again not THAT hard...but took three tries), from Thesos to Matis lands (maxed dp on this one), from Matis portal to Yrkansis (I lucked out and a group was going the opposite way, I managed to slip past the agro that was wopping them up pretty badly, sorry guys), and around most of Zorai lands (which is pretty much solo no matter what due to lack of population).
My nemisis is Tryker lands, even when I already have the spawn spots due to travel tours, I still want to explore. I want to be able to look around, and sticking to the "safe areas" is not exploring, that is Avoiding agro.
Nevermind, if I have to explain, you will never understand, if you understand...I don't need to explain.

No real story. No impact of your actions on the world. The only reward is leveling, and it can be difficult and time consuming, especially for harvesters and crafters. In short, what's missing here is the "fun factor". That has nothing to do with the difficulty or ease of the game.
