Lol@aggro
I love the kincher teleaggro from the other side of Atys, I avoid those things like the plague.

If you get a good combination of melee aura, speed, fear/stun and some luck it wouldn't be too bad exploring around solo.
Personally, I'd prefer this game have solo ability to get decent xp at a decent speed since I'm fairly anti-social RL and like to be alone. There are not a whole lot of people that play on this server, the most I'd ever seen was probably 50-75 when I participated in the anti-kitin invasion a few weeks back. I suppose I'm just used to the server pops of FFXI where you could find roughly 1000 people in Jeuno all huddled around the Auction House peddling their wares for a nasty %10 tax addition, and the server pop being 10x that overall.

Only thing I'd consider going back to FFXI was the lack of bugs, the devs have done a superb job in ironing out the bugs when they introduced new content. They realize that it's the players that make the game what it is, I'm just hoping the devs here realize it too.... before it's too late :(

rushin wrote:not the games too hard posts again surely. Thought everyone had got this out of their system after patch 1. Its not hard, travelling solo is not that difficult if you have a little patience and skill. I am a healer, my offensive skills are all under lv70 and have no problem travelling solo.

Maybe you should put some effort into learning how to travel not moaning about it in the hope the dev's reduce the difficulty to your level. blah! If u want to play an easy game with no challange go and do so, stop trying to ruin this one.
I think you're missing the point of the post you're trying to respond to. Great challenges can be very exciting, especially if there are great rewards. However, here there is no reward. No real story. No impact of your actions on the world. The only reward is leveling, and it can be difficult and time consuming, especially for harvesters and crafters. In short, what's missing here is the "fun factor". That has nothing to do with the difficulty or ease of the game.

God help us - matrix 1 was ok, matrix 2 was bad, matrix 3 was worse then #2 - and the problems were not the gfx but the story - now poeple will get #4.... ouch.
xcomvic wrote:MxO..i assume is Matrix Online... and I will tell you as a Matrix Online beta tester that the game is far from what anyone was expecting... only cool thing about it is that the story is the actualy 4th installment of the series and will continue to live the Matrix story, one of the main characters from the 3rd movie will die within the first few days of retail and i know that someone will be able to kill Neo if he is strong enough.... but I just didnt like the graphics for one, the missions, the fighting engine...well a lot of it just wasnt my style. I hope you like it....

I think he was refering to the desert :) - while I agree with you on one side; the grind of this game, non-stop nerfs and endless bugs, some of which were not fixed since beta making me look for an alternative.

Good luck in your next endavour and might it be one you can enjoy more. I personally don't like games on easy mode.

I think if I could cast magic spells in RL i'd be happy :) Along with that - a rifle in RL kills in 1 shout most of the time.

lets not compare the game to RL

In the past, the seasonal nature of the kipesta occupation was most of 2 seasons or about a week RL. A day or 2 I could handle, but a week at this point is way too much.

And I still think winning the invasion should have counted for something.

Last night I tried to bring a guildy to the zora spawn. Let me tell you its a mess. There is a new boss (I dont know what that thing is but its agro range is huge), the monkey men are all over, varnix are wondering every where, And the scorchers have more members wondering all over both camps. Its realy bad out there even to go through. I would not want to try and forage the area. :(

Personally I love the great danger in solo travels. I practically fall asleep on treks where you have 20+ people crushing everything in their path to get folks to TP's or new respawn points.

Just yesterday I walked from Zora to Paramount Stronghold in the void alone to get the respawn and meet a group up there to hunt. Now the majority of the mobs up there are out of my kill range (200+), and I wouldnt dare touch them. Its great to learn the safe paths to take the little niche' and routes through the world.

That's what in my opinion gives Ryzom a leg up. The world is mean, harsh and unforgiving. You can't simply walk out and run amok through the world. You have to use caution, stealth, and careful planning. In my opinion thats the gratifying part to me. Is that I know because I used a little skill and effort I can get to where I want to go among, the hundreds of kincher, najab's, kipucka, vrex, and what have you.

I don't fear DP, I fear the two minute load times. I fear the ten minute run back to where I was, and the HUGE lag spike that makes everything I see immaterial. In other words, I am expected to play Frogger with a ten second lag between what is REALLY going on, and what I see. I have tweeked this, turned that down, and adjusted my DSL until my BRAIN bleeds. And I have waited and waited and run through the middle before. But there are times that even half an HOUR or more is not enough to wait.
splatula wrote:As a solo explorer, I've made it to every portal, except the one next to the secret kami tele, and the ones that lead to Tryker. I am saving Tryker for a time when I am completely bored. :D

Sometimes you just have to wait out a spot, or not be so afraid as to walk between two tyranchas, skimming their agro zone. While travelling with Hunthor I've even seen him run between the legs of a kincher and somehow manage to not agro it.... though I wouldn't suggest that technique. LOL Something else must have caught its attention. Don't FEAR DP so much, it is just a game, and if you use your highest skill to clear your DP all will be well in a short, short time.

I feel for you Haddo, especially as one of your customers. :) All I can suggest is maybe head to Thesos or Underspring for a little while, heck I'll even give you a hand if you need it.

BINGO, you win the prize, wish I knew what that was. For ME the "prize" is finding a safe route to explore things, this is the first game I have not been able to enjoy exploring. I still have lag issues on a high end DSL (CLOSE to the node, within a block, this connection is better than my cable to this spot was), and a system WELL over minimum.

My issue with travel is simple, what I see is not what is truly there, but in order to travel...it HAS to be accurate. Since travel is JUST like 3d Frogger, one wrong move and SPLAT. I don't fear DP, I fear LOAD TIMES two minutes of load screen is painful when you run DIE run DIE run DIE. And not due to being careless, but due to lag that has a mob where you don't see them, and no mob where you DO see them. Or mobs that can move more than 150m in less than one second, which means they were not where I saw them at all, but almost on top of me.

I have successfully gotten from Pyr to Dyron (big WOOP, any numb skull could do that one), from Pyr to Thesos (again not THAT hard...but took three tries), from Thesos to Matis lands (maxed dp on this one), from Matis portal to Yrkansis (I lucked out and a group was going the opposite way, I managed to slip past the agro that was wopping them up pretty badly, sorry guys), and around most of Zorai lands (which is pretty much solo no matter what due to lack of population).

My nemisis is Tryker lands, even when I already have the spawn spots due to travel tours, I still want to explore. I want to be able to look around, and sticking to the "safe areas" is not exploring, that is Avoiding agro.

Nevermind, if I have to explain, you will never understand, if you understand...I don't need to explain.
