I think it's blatently obvious that they did no testing whatsoever on the encylopedia and complex mission system.

I think there are total of 8 rites thus far. Some in matis, zori, tryker... I didnt manage to get one in fyros yet... - all 'disabled'
bobturke wrote:Hmmm OK so this one is broken at least for a while. What about the other rites?

I've been running around doing missions all over the joint and I have about 5 or 6 rites just needing the big bubble. I've talked to all the barmen, tribal chiefs etc who say they usually give out rite missions but none are doing anything but their standard comments.

So my question is are any of the rites working yet?

PS im in the Lakelands.

Following questions from the community about this topic, Nevrax has given us some additional information on the Encyclopedia Themes.

Here is the list of the themes that are present in game but that cannot be finished yet. Let us remind you that a theme is the name that appears on the left panel of your encyclopaedia window (it is the reward of its associated rite).

We have a thorough communication that will soon hit ryzom websites and explain how the encyclopedia is supposed to work, so stay tuned.

I don't know what the fuss is here. Amber Cubes is broke, big F'n deal.

AO was a butt kicker for a Solid Year after Launch. SWG was crazy... EQ2 had major memory leaks for a great many of us, but, ultimately there is not One MMO that I've played, that was worth a dime, that rolled over flawlessly.

Someone mentions Runo is the hot stuff, well, Dandy. But I sure as heck am not dropping this game because of some broken quest or other minor issues, might get some folks panties all in a bunch but, crap happens.

Overall this seems like a damn decent launch. Have to wait and see but, lot of stuff here, and it ain't all eye candy and clouds.

I got one!

SPOILER WARNING!
.
.
.
For Fyros, if you go to the Bar at the fountain in Bathland, you can talk to the Barman to get the rite initiation started for 'Cube of Wisdom'. The barman will send you to do a buncha other people and finally to some dood at the fountain where you have to do a buncha deliver messages missions. And after you done all the steps you'll get a intro description to what the amber cubes are actually about, their history and such (preserved teachings of the old before the kitins destruction of the planet blah blah blah).

Now there's this superintendent guy in the Big House up stair at the back of Pyr, and initially, I can't get a rite initiated with him. But after I done the Chest of Wisdom rite, I can get L'Art de Something - Melee Weapons from him, and the rite then detailed who I should go to for each step of the rite, and what kind of missions to do. You don't have to randomly guess who to do missions for and the type of missions you suppose to do (cept for a general few, e.g. Craft some melee weapons for so and so will have 4 or 5 different missions of that type, and only 3 would give you the bubbles).

A buncha crafting missions later I got the Big Bubble for L'Art Melee Weapon rite (completed!) and got a craftimg plan for an axe that can be crafted using any civ mats (even choice and above) .

I have also been doing random missions for random people (e.g. some for the Water Breaker Camp, some for some wandering patroller at the Ov.Oasis, some for the deliver msgs order guy at the fountain in Pyr, and I would sometime do the correct one and get a small bubble for a rite that I haven't initiated yet. The rite would appear with my mission fullfilled as part of that rite, but there's no info to who actually give the rite in the first place, and who else to go to and what type of missions to do for them for the rest of the small bubbles and the Big Bubble .

(one of my guess is that the person who initiate the rite for you will give you the final Big Bubble mission).

So is this a bug? or intended?

Also, I have met many NPCs who said that they're rite givers (guardians of amber cubes), but I see no choice when I right click for them to initiate the rite. e.g. the tribe leader at the Water Breaker camp, all the NPCs in the Dyron's training house, etc. I am guessing that some criterias must be met first before you can see a rite initiation option for them NPCs. But what are these criterias? How can we find out? They do say that they will only give rites to those they deem worthy, but worthy of what? Fames? Crafting Level? Melee Level? Digging Level?

Some more info on how to be "worthy" of these rites would be nice.

Far as i know alot of it has to deal with lvl and fame..

The sage tells you he is the giver of rites ot those powerful enough to complete them (much like the master overseerers) and the bar man and intendants only gave me missions in tryker (i being matis) if i had 30+ tryker fame..

So to sum it up u need high race or tribe or faction fame and a minimun lvl requirement.
