As anyone that knows me IG (and probably anyone that knows me on the forums) will know, I'm not an offensive person. At least I hope that is the case. However....

F*** you, and F*** you all. *nods defiantly*
Yeah!
And ... stuff. Why do we need to perpetuate this whole argument? Kara have it all and Kami have nothing (really?) Well, I do apologise, but I'm Kamist (and am actually neutral in belief, only Kamist for TPs (AND PROUD)) and I have never had any trouble in acquiring ANY OP benefits. It's not like I'm even a well known player! I'm not famous on the shard, I don't command a lot of respect like a lot of other people I know do (Sash, for example, who started playing at pretty much the same time as me, knows many more people than I do and could probably get a lot more stuff than me!) but I still don't have any trouble getting OP stuff. I don't see why people complain so much?! It doesn't take a lot...I dig materials for my OP stuff...And I don't have to PvP ... I don't get forced into PvP [OP] battles to save my Outpost, because I don't have one! In my opinion, I'm far better off than anyone that actually owns an OP. I've been an OP-owner (when the Samsara had Woodburn Stronghold) and we sold it! We weren't PvP fanatics and we decided that the OP was more trouble than it was worth. So we got rid of it. Simple. Since the day we got rid of it, I've had as many cats and OP mats and flowers as I ever had when my guild owned an OP. So many OP owners are willing to give away their OP stuff. I mean, jeez, I deal with staunch KA supporters! They are happy to trade, and I don't think that anyone who has any kind of business head would ever struggle. Obviously not everyone can dig q250 materials, but I'm sure that a lot of (most?) people have _something_ they can trade? Perhaps I'm an oldie and I don't remember what it's like to be a newer player, but seriously, if I have no trouble then it can't be very hard to get OP stuff. I have absolutely no sympathy for players that whine about the fact that it's "PvP-only content". That's rubbish. OP benefits are perfectly obtainable through diplomatic means, I am living proof of that. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for non-PvP outposts (my guild is getting rather large and I can't pay for everyone to be catted-to-the-eyeballs, as much as I wish I could) but as it stands, it's really not that difficult to get OP rewards. It just takes a little bit of effort and some kind of "hard" work from you. It annoys me when people whine about being 'excluded' from the OP rewards, all it takes is a little work to satisfy the people who own OPs, and it doesn't take any [in a lot of cases, unwanted] PvP and hassle. The politics involved in owning an OP are much more stressful and hard work than doing a bit of digging or out-of-team healing, or any other recompense you can think of. Seriously guys, get a grip! (This might be off-topic and flamey and whatever else, but I honestly don't care atm...I need to vent so I'm venting!)
After all that typing [mostly crap, I know], in short : I don't own an OP and I haven't done for a long time; I still have as many cats and mats and flowers as I need. It's not hard. Get over it and start doing business!
If you hate me now, or if I've offended you, or directly contradicted your beliefs, or if you just generally don't like me and want to have a go, please reach me at "/tell nillian" followed by whatever abuse you can muster. In fact, I would love to debate this point with a lot of people!
I used to think I'd never make a set of Maga amps. I used to think I'd never see another catalyser in my life. I used to think I'd never make a Vedice pike again. I used to think I'd never [insert OP related thingy here] ... but I have. And I will continue to, as long as I put in the effort. Stop moaning, and start being forward-thinking and proactive, talk to OP owners and sort out some deals. Believe me, if I can do it, it really can't be that hard!

1. The KA PvP player population accounts for a majority. It says nothing about non-PvP players.sprite wrote:And now back in the real world, why don't you try counting again but including all of the OPs instead of the ones in your 'propaganda'?
2. You seem to assume a number of the guilds in "defender only" alliances or with Nationalist over faction belief systems are Kami alligned. Maybe its just none of the KA OPs in their home lands have been attacked in quite a while now (that I/they have heard of).
3. Dune End Farmers (q200) have not been seen at an OP battle by me anyway, and they supply a huge portion of the non-PvP guilds on the server.
With all due respect your own comments have more than a little spin on them, lets please keep this pleasant shall we?

Re: It's a PvP poll not a flame thread o_o
I think a few people need a reminder.
PvP is not the entirety of Ryzom.
letting it get you all bitter and twisted is ONLY a valid response if you WANT PvP to be the center of your gaming experience. in which case go and get knotted, with my compliments
This thread started well, but the zealots on both sides have dragged it back to the same cesspit all the other PvP threads ended in.
At this point (actually, several pages ago), I think the signal-to-noise ratio here is too low for any further benefit and we should take a breather for a few days - then start another PvP flamethread

Re: It's a PvP poll not a flame thread o_o
aye please close this thinly disguised whine thread!
What I do see that makes a massive difference is the KA support their members in battle, they dont dictate who each guild can attack, they support their lower level members well too.
back to my rant on the Kami forum some time ago, KoO wanted to attack a matis outpost many of you balked at the idea and it alienated a guild who have shown the kami an unbelievable amount of loyalty (especially turning up to more battles than most of you have had hot dinners *bows to lewy*).
Sure there are still some things that are out of bounds for the KA, but at least their reasons are based on some logic rather than a fake idea of keeping the moral highground (which is only in your heads anyways, no-one else cares). Carry on picking and choosing your battles and not supporting those who have supported you and you will continue to lose.
and so yet another jackoba flame ends

Re: It's a PvP poll not a flame thread o_o
From what i have haerd it used to be the Kami in full control of the server before the balance swung around. In due course the balance will swing once again.bgraz wrote:lets go to fantasy land for just a moment and pretend that the KA and Kami numberes were switched around
Was al these types of posts on the forums when it was the Kami in control?

Re: It's a PvP poll not a flame thread o_o
Voted no. The rewards of outposts have to much of a positive snow ball effect. In the current state of affairs the kami have no chance of tipping the balance anytime soon or in the long term for that matter.
More importantly the numbers of the poll indicate so far that more than half think that the current implementation of mass PvP is not working, which leads to the questions; Is it detrimental to the game in its current state? Is it good for the long term growth of the player base? I know that Ryzom already has a huge player base and could stand to loose a few accounts, and other games surely could use the business. The amount of votes in itself was simply a staggering indicator as to how great things are. In short, the ship is sinking but not sunk, and this is definitely a hole.

Are all the KA arrogant or we all get painted with the same brush ?kyesmith wrote:i wonder when that day happens if we will manage to be as arrogent as the KA *dreams*

fully agree with the thread statement tho Yaffle.
Re: It's a PvP poll not a flame thread o_o
Some people within the KA who are very "vocal" seem to speak for everyone within the KA, i know this is not the case, but as time goes on i find less and less memebers of the KA i can relate to. My comment was for a laugh really, i am one of a slowly reducing amount of kami who aim to make the KA's world domination as hard a task as possible, bring it on, what will be left to do when you own all the outposts?? That idea amuses me alot, it will eventually lead to wars within the KA....m1nion wrote:Are all the KA arrogant or we all get painted with the same brush ?

btw nillian, the difference is being able to get outpost rewards through payment and having them in your guildhall to help yourself to....
(im not complaining about my personal situation with regard to outport rewards, but it does bother me that fellow kami's should be at a disadvantage)
