you can use the neutral TP whatever happens in the regions. The two factions have no interest in preventing you from coming; they want you on their side. ;)
[Finally a reason for all those players who want to be neutral to go back to neutral! I know too many people who would rather be neutral, but for teleport pact reasons chose a side (Karavan or Kami) and got branded by the opposing side. The existing pacts available to neutral are liveable (just) and it will be nice to see no further reduction in those pacts for neutrals.]

So any progress with the spires? I would love to see some realy faction pvp making sense to have kami and kara in game, not just for graphicas beauty :)

Idea is brilliant in its core, maybe requires some polish and balance to make it nearly impossible for one faction to control all 4 regions entirely. For neutral players unable to use TP i would say - u are unable to use TPs in pr and high end zones but you are able to use all other tps that require no fame, i'm not sure who will have more problems with tp's - cult aligned players or neutral players. Also one more reason to watch around and not to die "just for fun to work out DP"... More reasons to have team firends and so on :)

Solo workers that do everything for themselves (forage craft lvlup and etc) - this ruins the game and its economy imho, not much reasons to work for others.

More dappers sinks also please :D

non-factioned (neutrals in other word) are the only ones who will _not_ be affected by spires... anymore that is, tp restriction/fame patch was one half of spire patch, second half (spires itself) didnt get thru testing, so got delayed. they were meant to be released at the same time.

if spires come in their currect form, kami and kara both would whine (like you never seen/heard before) . neutrals would eat popcorn and enjoy the show ;-)

If they are not true kami/kara they always can become neutral :) Ma-duk don't need unfaithful followers :D Think Jena don't need them as well :D

well I'm guessing in its current form spires will enver be released. They are simply too contraversial and not exactly a massive part of the game in terms of gain

could always just make it so kami/kara tags are a permanent fixture when you faction :) my god imagine the whines

rofl!

Still think spires would be fine if they only effected tagged players,as I posted in my idea I put up ages ago... That way, those that wanna fight for em, can... those that don't...wont be effected... that will make most ppl happy... Only those who want it to effect everyone all the time will be unhappy, and thats selfish anyway so owell.

Course I'd still like to see them improve OPs. posted an idea I liked where I used the towers idea from spires on them awhile ago :p ... dunno where its at, don't feel like searching.

[edit] If they hd been ingame from the start, or atleast really early on, it would have been fine to effect all... but as it is now... Its taking what ppl have had forever, away... It'd still be cool from a PvP standpoint... But it will hurt PvE... because it will split Kami/Kara teams will be smaller and only of one faction*mostly* and will split this already small community.

I don't know anyone who will trek from Zora to void any time they want to team... esp if they rarely find a team once they are there. (just an example)... thats the only real prob I see with spires in Ryzom.

The way I'm seeing the Factions and tags are probably a bit different than most. There's a difference between followers, believers and warriors or crafters who make a pledge to a cause. Kyerna would for instance believe in the patron godess Jena, mother of all Trykers; but she does not regard the Karavan as her emmisaries nor will she follow their orders or teachings, and she certainly wouldn't swear allegiance to them and fight for their cause.

On the other hand, it should be entirely possible for a Karavaneer not to believe in Jena, but regard the Karavan as a religious entity, follow their strictures and actively fight for their cause with all their personal strengths.

So in a way Jack, as I link becomming factioned with making a pledge to actively fight for said cause, I wouldn't wholeheartedly disagree with you. But only if that would be explained prior to swearing allegiance, otherwise it wouldn't be consentual. Nonetheless, it's still a big can of worms.

How about Faction tags and PvP status getting locked when a Spire gets declared on? Those who are factioned but have their flag off during a declaration can no longer turn it on for the duration of the battle, those who have it turned on can no longer take it off for the duration of the battle. And make Spire bonuses apply only when tagged ofcourse. Answer the call of who you swore allegiance to and you'll be rewarded; chose to ignore your duties and you shouldn't have to expect rewards.

In the end I'll have to agree again they seem a bit to controversial in it's current state; especially when they seriously affect PvE features for a PvP feature.
