Many hits = high CPU usage, DUH! >_>
They were slashdotted when they went public, if you don't know that yet.

one where certain parties will profit while putting in minimal money, like hyenas eating a lions kill

*waits for the news ryzom either dies or gets sold to someone with a bit of capital (and sense) until then I bid you goodbye

How, reading and talking with the ones who maked the project i understood that we wanted to have a sustandable ryzom. The project is based on saving ryzom... But you should know better than us.

Again so why are they not moving to a server with the power to manage it ?(forget that i am not the wiz with terminology that you are). Exactly why is it that you decided to take a side route to derail the actual problem of the website not being up and not working when it needs to be so that people who did read the article can go to the site and see the information?

Also the articles came after the spam and theft. What a pitty looks like he had the right idea the second time round but doesn't change the fact that his first instinct was to do something slimy and underneath the table!

you may well disapprove there are good reasons and the actual presentation might be one it but I don't see why hating it so much.
Flame? Hate? not really. At least not from me. Suspicious? yes. Inquisitive? that too.. wary? yup. Specially when they ask for money.
That, considering we don't even know the other propositions ( stop dreaming about big compagnies ... who are the dreamer here? )
That's true. But it can also be strategical and competitive choices. Even the ORG project decided not to disclose some data not to favor other possible buyers.
It's quite an unstable position to compare something with clear objectives, a futur for ryzom and ... well nothing. At least an honest intellectual position wouldn't dare the nothing.
nothing *known*. But this does not mean the "known" is good, or well-thought.
Sure the budget as to be rewritten since the first dream-like plan.
I looked at the budget. I won't comment on that -- one full paid developer to open the code? --
Wrong two weeks are not enough, we tried our best and some people didn't even slept:

The idea of opening Ryzom had been planned for months, being the "desmise of Ryzom" for granted, just a matter of time (this assertion, coming from someone who states that he has a NDA that prevents him from commenting on his laid-off, is a bit tight, imho, but just a minor thing)
here we are with the current 3 partner plan.
So much for the community project then!. The *community* has already decided who the partners would be. Who the hosting company would be. How they would operate!. I find that... "ironic" -- with a bit of misuse of the word to please some friends ;) -- as in "we, the community, have decided that in our best interest, Mr. Lejade and Mr. Lacambre will be our partners". Yes, it was tight in time and it was presented as a vote "Agree, not agree".
Us the player, we are also the player community of ryzom even if it doesn't pleases you. Acting as a major role
The community behind the non-profit organization has 1/3rd of the voices.
Olivier Lejade, who hasn't show anything impressive the past years but departed before the dream of Ryzom became what we know today: an beautifull place of broken promises
The fact that he departed gives him a lot of credibility.
-Valentin Lacambre, network and server specialist ( why continue with jolt a side compagnie as we can have a central one with us? ) and a well known figure of open software.
I did not get that, sorry. Central one? server specialist? why continue with Jolt? and why not? was Jolt asked to become the hosting server? Was Adviseo selected as a hosting service in the best interest of the community, the french location carefully selected, or just put as illustrative purposes?

A perfectly fine example of perfectly community-driven project, at least in apparence. I guess a 2000Eur pledging player would have had something to say there? nopes. The only choice is "we have evaluated this and we have decided that our only hope is to team up with these two investors. If you want, you can withdraw your pledge".

And you think everything simply just happens like that? The downtime that happens when moving to a new server? Does such a server even exist? Maybe you need more than 1 server?

I find it interesting when someone is trying to hold those accountable for their actions gets all kinds of excuses and whatnot and reason with people who in some cases appear to be working on this project at the moment and claim to have had very little sleep cause they are working so hard decide to get silly and petty and take the nonsense route

yes your right i am wowed by the professionalism and standup behaviour of the representatives of this project on this message board NOT!
