It could have been so easy for Nevrax to make this event a success for both the PvP and the nonPvP crowd.

Instead of one new zone, they should have made it two.

One with toned down Kitins and full PvP and so-called 'honor points' given for killing and slaughtering homins.

One with stronger Kitin agro and more PvE and no PvP. With the resources needed for the temples spread out far and wide and only spawning rarely and with kitin patrols guarding them fiercely.

They could have done it with the one area. Make the island in the middle PVP. Make the rest non-PVP. Put say 2 of the mats needed in the middle, the rest in the outlying area.

Yea you'd need to go intot he PVP area for some things, but those who don't wish to PVP could avoid it completely.

And, we want to learn as much as possible from you so, going forward, we do events and episodes more to everyone's tastes, as well. It is a learning process, in that sense. No, we're not experiementing on you, just doing what a good business does; listen to the customer and make adjustments.

1. It was very boring if you don't like repeating the same thing over and over ad infinitem.
2. the crafting clickfest is horrendous.
3. No xp for crafting.
4. Honor points unbalanced...promotes senseless killing. Healers , harvesters, craftes disadvantaged.
5. This event is gonna go on for 1-3 mionths....you have got to be kidding.

It seems with 4 events planned....my guess is that one will be based upon foraging in eack of the 4 specializations. It's a foregone conclusion that each faction will win 2 of the events. Kami will win this one because it can put more desert diggers in the area. karavan will with the lakelands and forest and kami will get the jungle....big surpise. Like the father / son baseball games where the 10 year olds eke out a win over their dads, each event is a foregone conclusion with everyone pretending otherwise.

Ya want to make this actually work ????????

1. Allow Guilds and individuals to declare a neutral faction position.
2. Have a harsh honor point penalty for killing a neutral.
3. Allow guilds to decline a war "invitation".
4. Allow guilds who accept a invitation to war set the terms of what they win / lose. Register with the ministry of war and use the exchange window to deposit dappers, items or the keys to your outpost. Only winner can retrieve.
5. Have the FvF areas "move" at elast those in the mainland.....PvP "islands" can remain forever PvP.

Incorporation of the above would:

1. Provide a better story line.
2. Expand the roles peeps could play.
3. Allow peeps to 'hire out" as mercs
4. Allow all peeps to experience all areas of the game.
5. Allow peeps to play the game they want to play.

Dish out honor points equally for all roles and adjust them based upon the actual odds. For example, track the levels of the "decalred kami" versus the 'decalred kara" and adjust the honor points accordingly. So when 10 of one side attack 5 of the other, the 5 shud get at least double the homnor points. This would encourage mercs to side with the undermanned side and make the battle less of a foregone conclusion.

If you are neutral why take part in the construction of these temple?

This is an event specifically for the followers of the 2 factions, there is no role for a neutral in fighting/harvesting and crafting, because you are promoting and supporting a faction by doing so.

If you could flag yourself as neutral then why would a faction tp you to the zone, as you will not support the faction. This is a warzone, if you plan not to take part in the war, don't take part.

If any mechanic were introduced to allow neutrals to havest at an advantage over the loyalists i would vehemently oppose this, as i would any penalty of neutral killing in a warzone. There is really no place in this war for neutrals other than being a target for all sides, if they enter such a zone.

And the story of the kami karavan war is for those that choose to enter and side, the honour points that are gained are for rewards from the faction, so again not an aspiration of one who is a true neutral, as you must serve the faction for the reward.

Red Cross, UN Observers, etc.

There are comparable neutral roles.

Oh, and yes, Mercenaries hiring out for the side willing to pay the most.

Only comparable in the sense that these are IRL grimjim. If the two are blending so completely for you then, if I was in your situation, i'd start getting a little worried.

Kodel.

I was just demonstrating that there are places for neutral parties in conflict.

In the current case with current functionality the only one that would really work would be the mercenaries one, which would require you to be able to choose faction on entering these zones.

Aajolea: I don't consider my character neutral, she does await Jena's return and want to see the temple built. She really want to please the Karavan, but the killing is a bit much to ask. As I see it, not all of the faithful people wants a holy war.

Must be especially confusing for the Trykers, allowing a Kami temple to be built in their country. Why would they make a 180° turn and start to kill Kami now?
