The function of Hawkers is not to be freight-to-town services, even if that is what they are mostly used for. Saying they should be removed because they dont pander to what many people consider to be an exploit, and even its users acknowledge is a violation of beleivability, is being dictatorial and excessive.flat75 wrote:>>In that case either a merchant should be placed in each of these zones, or the hawkers should be removed - to prevent players from making this mistake.
Players should have the option to make mistakes.. its not as if they are fatal.. this also applies to selling gear to merchants.
There should be a spectrum of difficulties that players can choose to experience. Let them pick what level of challenge/convenience suits them.
Different lands need different ambiences.. GoC is actually jungle by vegetation, but its completely different in atmosphere to Void. When people try to make all things equal, they end up ground to the lowest common denominator (or below), never all raised to match the highest peaks

Protecting people from their own mistakes, trying to open up everything to everyone, is actually denying them the right to play the game to its fullest.

Hawkers in PR - actually cant remember if I have even seen any - are like the stone mushrooms and floating jellyfish.. part of the scenery.. no reason they shouldnt be down there, after all, there are tribes who presumably buy and sell stuff from them. Lots of the feel of the living Planet is from stuff which isnt 'useful' to players, but I still like my butterflies and rocket birds.... and hawkers.blaah wrote:there should be no hawkers down in PR. Hawkers in Nexus are there for people who use them for what they were intended to. those few who get "burned" by them are useing hawkers for free mat teleport exploit.
