/me ignores the raving loons (i know this is a serious matter but better to try n find a solution than spit the dummy
-ive done some dummy spitting myself before but it gets you no-where , the only person you hurt is yourself n that aint smart)
So on to other things -Todays idea for Bot breaking = only repay focus once the mats have been Taken , any probs with doing that ? . would it be possible to Bot destroying mats in your inv to get around this ?

1. That would ruin the harvesting process. At high levels you are counting on focus regen for pulling more mats.
2. The bot would simply "take all" then drop / destroy 99 mats.

Im not talking about regen im talking about the Focus that is atm repaid once you finish an extract being moved to once you have Taken the mats , for normal Foraging (for mats as aposed to just lvling) that would be no different than it is now
lvling on mission mats would need you to drop every now n then but mission mat lvling is almost an exploit anyway imo

not a bad idea, and leave as is for careplanners, who also need to regen the focus as well. By the way, while discussing this with a friend in game, she asked if the use of second accounts to careplan/heal, was considered botting as well? I think it isn't, as long as (even quite fast) it wasn't unattended. Thoughts?

How would you be able to destroy the mats with a bot ? (serious question im not taking the micky or getting "anti" here lol)
-does it relie on the mats always going to the same slot in the inventory or would you be able to detect which slot they occupied regardless ?
If its slot dependant they could make taken mats occupy a random slot to defeat Auto-Destroying bots , lol getting complex but killing Bots would be worth some trouble imo

dont think so for two reasons,
watching tv whilst harvesting (unattended harvesting even quite fast)
2nd accounts isnt 3rd party software
and grrr ishy, yep i`m a crazy nutjob who was looking for answers and a reason to trust that this issue is being dealt with properly from the support team, i got neither.

It would depend on the abilities of the software being used for the bot. If it can only repeat keystrokes and mouse inputs at specific X,Y coordinates, then randomly specifying the inventory slot might work. Even without this, you could just put everything you own on your packers so that any mats you got showed up in slot 1.
However, even with that, there are applications out there that can take samples of the graphics on the screen and make decisions based on the colors of pixels found. If you were harvesting Anete Fiber for instance, it'd be pretty easy to find the text "Anete" that shows up in the corner of the icon and then tell the mouse to right click in that position.
BTW, the reason I'm familiar with this is because toward the end of my last game (Earth and Beyond), EA announced that unattended macros were allowed. This was shortly after they announced the closure of the game. At that point, I used some macros to get my chars to the max level before they shut down the server because I never would have been able to otherwise.

I think it comes down to:
No matter what restrictions are put in place, there will be botters who find a way around it.
And then it turns into having to make changes every time they figure out the last one.
I think that's a cycle that's not really worth fighting. Dev time is too valuable.
Like has said before, botting here in Ryzom is minor compared to other games.
The best we can do is make it aware we want severe punshiments for it, and to report it whenever it's discovered.
But I could be wrong, there could be a fail-safe botter block that's easy to implement, and I'd love to see it.

I like the idea of pete put forth because it would make the botters have to change tactics. Doing nothing is not acceptable.
