Why even have these rules if they are not going to be enforced? If the GM's do not enforce these rules who will?

Ignoring all of the finger pointing (mostly used to help prove points made by many of the posters), Why is nothing being done about blatantly breaking the rules?

German Chocolate Cake

====================
Makes 12 to 16 servings
Prep: 50 minutes
Bake: 20 minutes
Cool: 1 hour
Stand: 1 hour
====================

Ingredients
3 eggs
2/3 cup butter, softened
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 4-ounce package sweet baking chocolate
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk
1 recipe Coconut-Pecan Frosting (see recipe below)

Directions
1. Separate eggs. Allow egg yolks, egg whites, and butter to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, grease and lightly flour two 9x1-1/2-inch or 8x1-1/2-inch round cake pans; set pans aside. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

2. In a small saucepan combine chocolate and 1/3 cup water. Cook and stir over low heat until melted; cool.

3. In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed 30 seconds. Gradually add sugar, beating until well combined. Scrape sides of bowl; continue beating for 2 minutes. Beat in egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition (about 1 minute total). Beat in cooled chocolate mixture and vanilla. Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to beaten mixture; beat on low speed after each addition until combined.

4. Thoroughly wash the beaters. In a large mixing bowl beat egg whites with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form (tips stand straight). Gently fold egg whites into the batter. Spread batter into the prepared pans.

5. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 20 to 25 minutes for 9-inch pans. 25 to 30 minutes for 8-inch pans, or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Cool cakes on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool thoroughly on wire racks. Spread Coconut-Pecan Frosting over tops of cakes, stacking layers. Makes 12 to 16 servings.
Coconut-Pecan Frosting: In a medium saucepan slightly beat 1 egg. Stir in one 5-ounce can (2/3 cup) evaporated milk, 2/3 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup butter. Cook and stir over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes or until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat; stir in 1-1/3 cups flaked coconut and 1/2 cup chopped pecans. Cover and cool thoroughly.

amitst wrote:Err... the GMs arent policemen, they only enforce game mechanics, take your disputes to the PvP arena.

actually that IS the gm's job is to enforce the rules, the game master runs and controls the game and will supposedly take action if a player is breaking the rules

unfortunately these gm's have decided that harrassment and kill stealing is perfectly acceptable types of behavoir in this game

as for the "finger pointing" going on, since i started the thread i never pointed any fingers at anyone, it wasn't until brithlem said "it is my guild they're talking about" that we all said who it was

but this really is a case of "if the shoe fits" and unfortunately since the gm's do nothing at all to enforce the rules in this game, guilds like infinity are allowed to harrass and kill steal off of people

and since i was one of the players involved in this, what savvy has said is true, we waited at least 20+ mins before getting aen. i had to load the game, change my gear as i was in my foraging gear and then port to the karavan dyron port, then i had to run to the malamot outpost and then we stood around for several minutes before attempting to pull her

the guide said that anything happening before the crash does count as the ai and everything was reset, include the aen event meaning she had full hps, we even had the event reset once trying to pull her

i really do wish the dev's check the log files and that will prove that everything we are saying is true and that the gm's actually do something about this as this is not an isolated incident

Morgy, I’ll never leave ya, just a hiatus from a game that was causing more tears than fun. I’m actually having a ball running around Guild Wars for the time being…but I’ll probably just stay away long enough for my 3 mil DP to go away on its own… **smooch morgy**
savvy wrote:Temperr I am not going to get in back into this with you. [edit]
I wasn’t looking to engage you Loomas, just pointing out that a rule is a rule is a rule and anyone who breaks them should be equally treated….and was mentioning how it was ironic that you are all of a sudden bothered because something affected you personally, but not when a different guildmate was affected. (me) That’s fair to say, and not attacking you….just stating a fact. You want rules enforced on Infinity but not inside your own guild. (cough)(hypocrite)(cough)(sorry)(truth hurts)(sorry)

The part of the Ryzom rules that I can see Infinity in violation of is the first line, that says …..” You may not harass, threaten, embarrass nor discomfort any other players.” Having aggro dragged on you and getting DP is discomforting, but not getting a fourth set of Aen armour isn’t. They have been known to use profanity in region as well, and Posmo and Basic sent screenshots of those incidents to GM’s. This thread asked if things would be different on the EE server and we can see it isn’t. Maybe the answer is to try adapting to the lack of rules and play around it.

But for things that really matter, virii – you don't happen to have recipe for Dolci Toscani handy, do you?
