Hi again. tnx much for the long detailed answer, animd, i didn't really believe some1 would take so much time to read all of it..
*notice that some of the ideas was for 'bringing it up', not even sure myself if it's a good idea. just to let you think about it and decide.

allow me to repeat tho some things:
*i do agree that the community is very helpful and nice. i know i was when i could. but notice that some ppl asked for help only when they were really lost
and angry (not every1 like to ask for other's help, and some even won't take it when they offered).

*the starter kits - individual sp/xp is fine by me. but help screen on what will happend l8r in the game when not using some skill (like lack of stam), and to explain the fact that is it prof based xp (remember that we have no idea, and some of us never saw it in this way), and the fact that there's no need to take the fight kit (it isn't obvious, and dont keep it a 'secret', so if some1 do want all prof, he would know it is possible, and that this is the best way), and explain the fact that it can be bought l8r on with other sp's).

*skill tree format - an help screen somewhere with the tree structure should b enough.

*the dogs on ml - for some reason the dogs r spawning right on the main road (the only road) the leads out of town. and even a group of 3 40l still having trouble crossing it. not to mention the shock u get when u just came alone and 'not allowed to leave town' when its much quieter further south. mayb u should add a safer road for noobs. might even be a better idea to add a sign (good idea?) 'danger ahead, leave only with escort'? that way it might even force them to meet new ppl :) .

*the weapons - u read me wrong about the pike. i didn't say pike l90, but a pike with 92dmg/22spd, which in my opinion is very powerfull for a lvl 10 pl.

again, tnx for the comment animd, and if u have spare time i would love to hear your thought about the rest of it. its always good to hear what other think. I see things from my own eye, and many things could work for me but not for the others. :)

cya.

bcrowl,

It's awesome that we can have a civilized discussion without flames. Kudos to you bcrowl.

I agree with you about the beggining experience needing more clear and have more detailed explanations in the game. There should also be more clear instructions and information about actions you purchase from trainers in game. There should be helper NPC's in the noobie islands that would give detailed step by step instructions and advice for beginners (although I haven't been on noob island in a long time so things might have changed).

However it is stated in the manual that you will be able to purchase other skill types in the "How to gain new ations" section. The manual does explain a lot of game functionality. I do think, being that this is an online game, that this same information should be included in a more user friendly manner in the game. I too hate reading through the manual instead of playing the game but sometimes that is the best way to learn game mechanics, functionality and options. Its either that or ask questions.

Ok, now that I have taken a closer look around Yrkranis. (hadn't really been running around in that area in a long time). You are correct about the doggies. It's not that there are one or two sitting near the road, it's that there is a whole pack of em that gang up on ya every time. They haven't been anything but a nuisance to me in a long time so I didn't notice it so much. If they were thinned out a bit and the rest were moved further back from the road it would be good. One tip is to not follow the road. I had a much easier time if I went straight west of Yrkranis and followed the edge of the cliffs until I got past the area.

Sorry about misunderstanding you on the piike and yeah a 92 damage pike is a bit strong for a level 10 player. I think there are some behind the scenes mechanics that prevent any level player from being able to effeciently use a weapon of a higher level than they are. I believe you miss more and do a percentage less of damage when using a weapon higher than your level. I can't be sure about details because the dev's haven't been clear about it, but this is what I have gathered from all of the discussions I read during the open beta.

Now to comment on the stuff I never got to in your previous post.

Being able to put a flag on the map on the item you are targeting would be awesome. It is insanely difficult to place a flag where you want to on the map. It never seems to end up where you wanted it to go. Off topic rant; Plus the map never seems to be accurate, at least not for me. It seems shifted up a bit. I can be standing right on the road and on the map and it shows me off to the south a bit. Not good when trying to navigate. Rant complete.

I believe you can create a macro to equip your whole set of armor and weapon (as well as do other things) but I am not sure how as I haven't created any macros so I couldn't tell you. If I am wrong on this please tell me. Ask around as this feature is not explained in the manual or online (that I have found)

You can set up 4 different desktops that can be chosen from a hotkey or the taskbar. You can set them up however you like, including no windows, and select them at will. I forget how you save them though.

Mouseover stats and energy bars would be good. Would make it quicker to see what's going on and allow you to check stuff out without having to stop your current action.

Would be nice to see those other stats the mobs have, I don't think it necessary but would be nice. I don't seeing it is going to change the outcome of any battles, although it might make you less worried if you see a Kipee run out of Stam. You can tell when this happens in battle already as their attacks become less powerful and stun less when they run out.

There is a rating system on mobs classified by zone and star rating within that zone. I don't remember what colors translate to which zone but chances are they are going to be related to the zone you are in. The star rating is simple enough, the more stars the more difficult the mob in that zone. Small stars for regular mobs, big stars for bosses and the like. I don't think that giving away the mobs vulnerabilities when you click on them is a good idea. It should be something you figure out with experience and can become part of your own personal style. There are plenty of people out there who know what is good against each mob though. If you want to know ask around.

I am guessing you are talking about just finding stuff laying on the ground. I don't really know what this would add but it might create a better feeling realism. No opinion on that.

Well, I think I have used up my allotted time on the forums today. bcrowl it has been awesome reading your suggestions. It gets me thinking and hopefully others as well.

If you would like to chat in game give me a hollar. I would be happy to show you around a bit if you like, and you are in Matis or Tryker. I haven't made it to the other lands yet.

- More species of animals.
- More varied scenery.
- Allow more than one arrow on the radar (color-coded)
- Ships
- Carts/other land vehicles.
- Some non-combat non-healing spells (just for the fun of it, like fireworks or create temporary plants etc.).
- Food and drink.
- Ability to make food and drink.
- Fishing.
- Baking.
- Furniture.
- Watches.
- Ability to see what something will look like on your character before buying it.
- More types of “for looks” clothing.
- Ability to sleep (like sitting, but even fast with a longer “get up” time).
- More low-level critters around the cities on the mainland.

Some things, i dont know i other people said these, but here are my ideas.

Btw this isn't really Patch 1, just things i would like to see "Someday"

1. When your name is spoken in Chat, its highlighted, and optional "dink" sound.

2. Macros that work for casting and fighting, or just add more macro functions, like 3sec delay - 10 sec, and so on.

3. More Icon grphx for items, I would even help on that one.

4. A Cart, the when placed inside packer, he tows it behind him, and then can be droped/placed anywhere, when placed, it resembes a Cigerate stand, and shows either items you placed in it for sale, or your items currently on the market, and you can move it when ever you want. You or any teammember must be nearby or shop is closed. (or just add player names to player's packers [ie. Gfunk's Packer] and players can click on it and purchase said player's market items)

5. Crafted items that require more then 1 player to make, example, 4 players in team can make crafted popslickle stand and the lowest quality of the lowest teammember's skill. Also, if Team Crafts normal Items together, They much better items! Then if a guild has 4 Armor high level crafters, they could get together and make better stuff? Say for starters 1 player can add Hps, another player can add sap, and so on?... or get more complex with it, and let them get mat bonuses, like if 4 players craft, they have a chance of makeing 5 items, even though they used 4 items worth of mats?

6. NPCs should drop weapons, even at least junky weapons and armor.

7. Agro attack NPC... "I wish that Journey Man would teach me how to tame those Cloppers! They eat right our of his hand!@!"

8. Skills Oppisite of Taunt, Tame... This would be really cool... they dont have to play soccer with you, but at least decide not the eat you right now.
I never said it had to work on a whole group (would be nice at high levels) I think a Level 200 person should be at piece with the planet enough to calm a a level 100 animal (maybe not a kincher, but who knows, its an Idea)

9. DP forgiven over time, had it in other games, very nice... I mean Nervax you still get our money, weather we sleep it off, or work it off. This would help a lot of players take a break, when they have already been player for WAY to long, I know in EnB i used to not mind dieing, cause i knew it was time for me to goto bed anyway! and i could start fresher and get homework done still! (EnB forgiven ratio was 20% per hour)

10. More Ranged skills options (like more range + option) Something in the game, at least 1 thing should have like 100m range, I used to hit the 300m target almost every time with my M16A2, without a scope, its not that hard.

11. Screen shot Key that takes Screen without Hud Automatically, would help Ryzom PR for more people passing around nice screens

12. Vissable Bag?? How does my char carry 20 pikes + 2 pairs of cloths and i can't even see a back pocket on him?! I mean with all the Packer-Stable realizim, why not get it all right? This would open up a market for Bags!! Crafted bags! all kinds of stuff

13. Item Info code, this is buggy, half the time i have to Click info on items twice to see the "real Info" and sometimes i get things that say I crafted them, when I didnt and I have found 1 work around, loading a Sap Crystal into a weapon will correct Stats display. This part needs major code work, its probably an error, or display bug in the interface buffer display sub routines.

14. I know this is a HUGE task, but would sell more Ryzom gamers, voice from NPCs, not just text, at least voice from the Event missions and immportant things. (chater from all those bystanders, doesn't have to be "Sims" chatter, but just about 60mb of 32kbps clips, doesnt have to be 100% of the time, could just be once in a while, would be really nice touch)

15. In game Newspaper, Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How?

16. Emotes for packers, and more presistance emote in general... like "Moods" so all chars dont have same exact idle stance, (granted my this takes more ram, but these stances fall into cosmetic, and could be enabled only for gamers with 1gb of ram or simialer auto enable setting) I would like to see players running around that are happy Looking, or Sad looking, and stay looking that way till they change there "mood", but please take this idea and expand on it!

17. Soccer Ball Field, with Soccer ball that can be "Pushed" by players!!, if packers have collision detection, why not big Ryzom ball? Can be invul ball that is respones to hits but moving in oppisite direction!, and rolls when pushed.

18. Alernate sounds from female charactors attack move! PLS

19. Alernate Attack move from the Fliping in the air attack! (ok 10 flips in the air in a row with 1h sword and 1h dagger is nuts)

20. Remove Resist Spell from the game entirely, its just silly, its making people very disgruntelled, me included.... a level 150 Offiensive mage should never be able to throw a double Lightnig spell at a Suckleing Yubo and do ZERO damage... i can understand if fail to cast spell, but zero damage on hit? I would like to see it reworked, Even Keeping the Current Damage per # of spell ration, however, lets just miss it instead of the Suckling Yubo resisting it... Missing is less disgruntelling... (opens door to using a magic version of Acurate missle skill??) Also, that way Sap Crystal animation isn't duped or resist spell. (make new Miss animation??)

21. Range Gun Sounds PLEASE! :) good ones this time BANG! not Poof! I have make louder sounds wacking someone with a wet towel!

22. Staffs with Tons o Sap load, like 4000 or so, for casters, or Staffs that take place of Amps, Helmets for Casters that amp, and other caster stuff, like amp stats on certain weapons (long sword of %50 Healing cast speed)

23. All crafting has X amount of room for Optional Mats... for example, making a vest only needs certain mats to make, with say 3 optional slots open, these optional slots can be new class of mat (Special, or Method Scroll, Special Instuction) so that the player uses set Method or "follows directions, or pointers" to make that specific item, buffin its stats a little more.
ei, using Active Virus might make it "Itchy Fine Hoben Vest of Parry" could turn your skill green!

24. Caps on market resell prices, i know some mats are uber hard to find however the market isn't storage place for primeroot mats that cost 4,139,449 a piece of quantity 99 and quality 150 (market resell max price = 1000% of orginal or something like that?)

25. No deselected when member dies, ALSO, Bomb spells hit Downed members too pls!!

26. Packer Follow should be Client side, client sends packer movement based on player movement packets minus 5 seconds when moving, pause when stoped. i know this sounds like pointless work for devs, but would reduce server side packer related load considerably when many users start moving around with packers, and since packer probably wont be getting Attack AI and other smart abilitys, why make the server handle a basically benine entity?

27. Tranquilirzer Ammo? Slows target (so i can run like hell and shoot over my shoulder!)

28. Some Herbs natrually run around from some agros, well it would be cool, if say Yubos stoped begging for food, and started keeping there distance! (herb fame system) players can be 1 with nature, or scare the crap out of every herb that they come near, making the bigger herbs of a said herd want to protect the young from you. ( but how to herbs know who is who?? cause they get to know you more time you spend around that herd, cause you keep freah shookie plant in your pocket? Maybe?) Why to herbs always want to get in your face? Might as well be Asking "Please butcher me for mats!"

29. A "shooo" command, when a herb is Eye balling you, and all up in your face, you should be able to shooo it away! I have seen players swear this works already by typing "Shooo" in around chat, but i think its just a funny thing that seems to work cause of the Random ness of it.

30. /invite command for long range invites

31. Guild or Player Stat window tool, to look up any player and see their current levels in what.

32. TeleTicket Holder/sorter, not in normal inventory, but seperate

33. Hold Shift to move ALL to bypass the Qty Question when selling/moving Stacks of items

34. Filter Your own items when selling option

35. A Sap Crystal Actioin that casts the sap crystal directly into right hand!

36. Crafted Tools??? with buffs?, more focus = better tools can be used... (ie Jackhammer!, no really, a Choice pick with focus, and so on)

37. Lay down command!

38. Bartenders Sell BEER!!! (reduces speed factor! and slurrs chat!)

39. Interact with objects! use the same mount code for packers, but make NPC mounts for everyone (ie Chairs in Bar! and Throne rooms!)

40. Built in Voice support, players around you can be heard with mic, there speaking is volume factor * distance factor. Voice can be Client side, with peer to peer type communication, on UDP protocal, every area like "CheapSide market" is its own voice channel, which players move through depending on thier location, and only players shareing the same "channel" can hear each other, at volume factored by distance on client side, by using UDP, which is not dependant on receive packets, and direct client to client transmition server side load would be actually comparable to text chating now.

41. Slow down the Emotes, currently its down and over before anyone can appreciate the work that when into the charater action!

42. Overlay a marker tool on the map, so players can draw on there own map, thats saved on their client...

43. make First person view more appealing, cosmentic brainstorm between yourselves, your the devs! (try, higher Point of view location, can see own feet?, can't see inside arms? can see actual attack moves from FP view? Head moves with Camra view?)

44. I know this probably wont ever happen, but larger more detail item pictures, say 200 pixels or more, 16bit color, kinda like diablo2, beautiful items it had, if only game had more depth.

45. Items repairable by person who made it?, when items break, the dont vanish, just unequipable or stats vanish till repaired?

46. All items on Packer are accessable as if on self, when packer is nearby of course, makin it so you can trade items, directly from your packer, load ammo directly from packer, and so on. (just like crafting Mats now)

47. Mounts

48. Option to change Double click action on non-agro creature to just "lightly pet with kindness" instead of "Accdently Wack in the Head!" when trying to quarter something else.

49. If I pet a creature enough can it be my friend?

50. Reguardless of what happens, i would like to hear more "I like this patch because" and less "This Patch made things Worse" if the developers can achieve that, then they are doing their job! :)

2 last things
* Packer Poop effect?
* Pet Yubo stores in town, that you can teach tricks! (i know i ask the immpossable huh?)

Sorry about the HUGH post, but i had nothing to do, but Burn about 10 DVDs and Type this while i waited between them!

Admittedly I have not went thru all these pages to see if it has been listed yet. I would like to have the way the "shielding" power stanza currently works tweaked a bit.

It makes little sense for me to hit F-10 in the midst of a battle to target myself and activate. Targetting can be a pain in a multi-target environment as it is, and activating shielding prior to a battle will cause your skill to run out prior to it's most needed time.

"Shielding" would probably be more popular (once folks understand it better) if it defaulted to a self shield unless a teammate is targetted. Other spells work this way and shielding could sure benefit by this modification.

More info on shielding : http://ryzom.twazz.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=1418#1418

Hello Again. Animd, tnx again for your awsome post, i had good time reading it.

just to explain:
*collectable items - well, i can only steal this idea from ac2, when u can gather dye flowers, and mats for crafting the knights armor.. i really liked that feature when i suddenly c a rare red dye plant that worth 5k+ on the market..

here some more ideas i had:
*Real time clock - donno about u, but i find myself playing 20 hours in a row..could b nice to know what time it is..

*Ability to add comments to resale items.

*Ability to drag stanza from 1 action bar to another

*** mayb in the far far future, ability to harvest underwater, mayb adding some ponds on other islands except tryker.

*i think there's no /help command? neither /commands , should b added.

* '/' should instantly write '/' on chat. (i guess i could do macro for that..but)

*Wood signs - directions to cities, ruins, important place, on crossroads, in forests etc. could really add alot to the game.

*Exchange board - giant borad inside the city that ppl could place notes, buying/selling (i learned that many ppl on ml dont put their stuff on merch, mayb bcoz merch prob, or other reason), exchange ideas, directions, events, etc. *sometimes when u want an item the ppl who can make it not online, could b nice to know whom to search for.

that's all for now (i must get back into the game)..bbl

Ok I just got done reading the summary at the beginning that says it lists up to post #94 and I went to read any that might of been added and woah 116 posts, so sorry but I don't have time to sit and read all those... lol So I am just going to list a couple things I would like to see, so sorry if someone else has already listed them.

-Items made as linkable text that can be sent in /tells, /region, /gu, /say that can be clicked on and the picture pops up showing the stats and such as it does when buying or trading an item.

-The option to pay a small fee to do a character transfer from one account to another. I don't know how much it happened before the free trial and buddy program, but for myself, I began playing before they had the free trial or buddy thing on my Mom's account to check it out before I ended up buying mine when the free buddy thing came out later. But by this time I already had my character up a bit and didn't want to start her all over again. So now if we each want to play our high level characters we have to take turns. Would be nice to get them on the correct account so we can play them at the same time and together.

Hi, I haven't read all those suggestions pages so maybe I’ll suggest something someone has already suggested

- Ability Book: I would like to have a window listing all my abilities. In this window I want to be able to edit and create the new abilities, those abilities can then be drag to the Hand Bar. When you change something in the ability book it automatically change all version of that abilities in the hand bar. For now the only way to change the abilities is to right click on them and as a software programmer I prefer to don’t assume that the users know how to use a right-click menu, most of them don’t know. The others advantage is it’s easier for newcomer to know that they can edit and create abilities (I’ve seen lvl20-30 don’t know that), easier to maintain the hand bar without the need to recreate the same abilities on different hand bars (I use it a lot, I’ve like 3 bar with my healing spell) and can maybe bring some personality to the abilities, most of the time I give a generic name to my abilities because a recreate them all the time. This way I’ll be easier to name my abilities like “yobu punch”. On a side note why not added the abilities name to the attack like “You use your Yobu punch on Wealing capryni and do 40 damages”.

- Mail notification on item sale. Most of the time even when I’m online I don’t have the time to see when I’ve sold an items.

- Put destroy entries in right-menu to the end.

- Better and more precise landmark on map. It would be great to add an option to add landmark to each entity’s right click menu.

- Deposit tracking info in system info.

- Comment on item.

- Quantity filters in vendor and stack raw material of the same type.

- Allow space in landmark caption

- More attribute for item enchantment, like regen for all stats, specific magic resistance. Maybe put the specific spell resistance as base properties for raw material. Yubo skin is better against cold than capryni skin and an armor made of kipee mats give the crafted item more resistance to acid.

- Magic, craft and fight branch has a lot of sub branch to them but the harvest skill don’t have any sub branch until level 50 and I think that it broke a little bit the system. What I would like to have is a sub branch to harvesting for prospecting and maybe for care plan. People can get Xp for prospecting only ( I think that it’s already balance, I spend more focus on prospecting than on harvesting.)

- The interface is very nice, it’s a near complete OS interface but I’m not sure that it really fit in a game. It’s a minor grip though. Most of my friends don’t find the interface nice until I put all background to 100% transparent. Maybe put transparent windows as default like the main toolbar(action/game,etc)

- A better listing of your sales, it’s sometime hard to see how many of one type of items I’ve in sales. I like filling the vendor and put 3-4 of each thing I can craft and now I’ve a hard time to see what I’ve in sale, Maybe only add all the filter option to the My sales tab.

- Add comments for contact list, i want to note when and why i've meet those peoples and remember why i've put it on my contact list.

1. Would love to see the effects when other people level. Perhaps even make the effects more lavish when you're higher level.

2. Lower mob magic resists...kinda hard to gain xp when every shot is resisted when grouping. Makes my mage useless when in bigger groups hunting larger creatures.

3. Perhaps something for light armor to make it a lil bit more useful. The only reason to use light armor as a mage is for HP or Sap bonuses really.

4. A way to log out without quitting out of the client to get to the character select screen.

5. Fix the lag between getting damage and your healthbar.

Another request, move the "quite guild" button far far away from the X button on the window.

Shift all the option on the character creation / selection screens (main screens) up by 1/4 of an inch to avoid the overlap of the windows navigator bar at the bottom of peoples screens, this has been a thorn since day 1, and I have it set to always load full screen, only does when I physically get into the game.
